Can anyone give me advice on Tinting shifting Windows?

Recommended Posts

With the window rolled all the way up, use something on the outside, like a dry erase marker or wax pencil, to make lines on the sides where the glass meets the trim. This way, when you are installing the film, you'll be able to tell if you have positioned it so that there will be no gaps when rolled up.

Position your film, make your first vertical cut while window is rolled up all the way (back side of window, meaning side that's closest to back of vehicle).

Slide film roughly 1/4 inch.

Anchor film, cut vertical line on the other side of window about 3 inches up, roll window down a couple inches. If window is going to shift, this is when it will move.

Finish cutting your vertical line.

This should cover all gaps whether the window is rolled up all the way or if it's only partially rolled up.

This is mainly for the back doors, I usually do the opposite for the front doors.

During 2 stage method after you roll it down, don't forget to roll it up just enough to "set" the window before you install

I do this with bottom dropping as well. You just want to make sure you don't while cutting your pattern with the technique I recommended or the window will shift back into place defeating the purpose.
