MOBILE TINTERS HAVE A QUESTION FOR YOU

Recommended Posts

We do not offer mobile and never will, but if we did, we would add atleast a $50 fee to the job.  You have to consider gas, extra time spent to/from job, loss of potential jobs at shop due to the extra time spent on the road, tinting conditions, more chances of wrecks/damage to vehicle, etc.  Just about every person that has asked us about mobile also only wanted to do the base film.  So I would much rather at the shop in a controlled environment selling upgraded jobs than going through all the extra work for cheaper people.

Charge enough that the average customer is going to just want to bring it to you. You've got to think of it this way. You've got setup and break down of a hour and that doesn't include driving. Load tools, unload tools, load tools, unload tools. All of that time adds up. You're better off being in a shop to help minimize time. So if you lose one mobile but can do two at the shop in the same amount of time was it really worth it?

You should not charge them more if there is a certain situation that contradict with customer service. For example if the GM of a dealership personally called you to do a tint for one of his friends or good customer, you shouldn't charge extra. You choose who to charge more and who not to charge more. Just use common sense.

You can always offer valet service. Tell them to bring the car and then give them a ride to where they want to go. When the car is done, call them to pick their car up, pick them up, or deliver their car to them.
