The 1 qt spray master gets 1 mac+cheese noodle size squirt and my 2 qt bottle gets 2-3 depending on temps and prefer to have extra slip than not enough

 

And i add a shot of alky when its very cold out for flat glass or auto

 

And havent used J@J forever=maybe the new stuff sucks?  Dollar store stuff works fine for yrs

I'm a numbers guy, I don't like "squirt" as an amount.

But, recently i've grown very fond of Joy Non-Ultra and it seems to be the same dosage for Joy Non Ultra as JnJ. Slip lasts longer for me with the Joy.

I use  to use 2 cap fulls for a poly 2 sprayer  but it was to sloppy and inconsistent, depending on how long you let it drip out of the cap you would get different amounts. I also tried the the count and squeeze and also the eye balling it method but it also was way TO INCONSISTENT . . so i was looking for something measurable, quick and clean,  i went to walmart with this goal in mind and a massive germ x sanitizer bottle[i think its 32oz] I filled it with j and j and a little bit of alcohol [MY SECRET RECIPE  . .  i call tint slimer killer. . lol]   , I measured it out and it is 5 pumps a cap full, . , so now i just put 10 pumps to get my 2 cap fulls  and now get the same REPEATABLE results EVERY SINGLE TIME. . .  no more do i have to deal with not have enough slip in my juice and having the film bind/stick in place and not slide in where i need it to be. . . if its really hot or i just want more slip i do 12-13 pumps. . . . by doing this i can measure it extremely quick and clean and accurately . . . i highly recommend it and i will never go back to the inconsistent methods.. . .  one thing did to improve this tho was to order a film on pump  http://44tools.com/film-on-pump-only/ . . .which by luck it fit my purell sanitizer bottle perfectly .  i did this because the hand sanitizer pump spring  was sometimes not strong enough to push the pump back up because the J n J is thicker. . .  I attached some photos  . . . 

 

update number 2. .  while taking the photo i was like i might as well refill it my sanitzer bottle  as i have literally used the whole 32 oz.  .and then it hit me. . . why not try film on pump on the J and J bottle to see if it fits. . .:facepalm2. . . .SMH it actually fits . . . I should of did from the beginning but the whole thing has been an experiment for efficiency and still is . . . as they say you live you learn. . . so for  a 2 dollars and 55 sents you can get a film on pump  . . . and turn your J and J bottle to accurate repeatable slip dispensing  machine . . . I hope you guyz give it a try and enjoy

Ha i was gonna say a cap full was way to much soap but the cap is small and 2 small squirts(3 hot days) filled it with the regular cap on a dollarstore BS bottle and i use a 2qt sprayer most of the time and i guess i use 1 to 1.5 cap full for 2qts and 2 caps would be to much slip for me

 

Its not that critical of a amount needed to measure out OCD style@better to have slightly more slip than not enough esp hot/humid temps

im in florida and normally in the sun so for me there is usually no such thing as to much slip [except in the winter time ofcourse] 2 cap is usually perfect for me. . . or in this case 10 pumps

I had the same hand sanitizer stuff, cleaned the bottle and filled it with water, I measured each pump from the hand sanitizer pump is 2mls. In case anyone was wondering.

      Beginner trying to learn, where I'm at...

      Hello, thanks for allowing me to join. I'm a retired auto technician/High School Automotive Instructor. Enjoyed working on cars all of my life. I have had and still have several nice cars (mostly Corvettes) and enjoy keepng them nice. I have a lift in my garage which helps with the install on lower areas of the vehicle. I have been tinkering with PPF film here and there on rock chip prone areas on my cars. I have been sucessful sometimes installing where it was acceptable to my liking, but never perfect. I have had to rip several off and start over. That doesn't bother me because I really want to master this. Education isn't free and if it means wasting film and time I understand. I have gotten over the fear of installing it on small areas (front of wheel well area on rear quarter of C8 Corvette) and shrinking it with heat gun to smooth out fingers but cannot do an insatll without getting any bubbles completely. Some installs the bubbles have dried over a couple of weeks and were acceptable for me. But other installs were not, and I had to start over. The solution I'm using is the typical 16oz distilled water and 2 or 3 drops of baby shampoo. The film is Ebay pre-cut kits. Can anyone shed any light as to what I'm doing wrong to minimize the bubbles? Is there a different solution I should be using? Is there a better film to start with that is easier to use for beginners? I'd appreciate any advice or tips I can get. Thanks in advance!

      Thanks for the reply! I will see what happens. I tested the paint on a scrap of PPF I had sitting around, the it seems really secure. Just for perspective, I attached a photo of my goof. It really was a small divot, just bugged me that I did it at all. I did place a very small bit of paint on the top of the exposure. Living in MN, rust is always the concern, so I am hoping I have this sealed. While I know that PPF can't heal a cut like this, it was very flat so the exposure should hopefully be minimal. (What looks like a fold is the reflection of a seam in the ceiling)

      Sometimes customers show up with a few chips but no touch up paint to fix them before the install. I have had pretty good luck putting a few drops of touch up paint in a syringe and injecting that under the film into the chip once they come back with the paint. You might want to try that when that paint on top washes off.

      Marks appearing on the window after tint removal

      I would go at it with a few chemicals to see what might work and definitely have some steel wool like @Tintguy1980 mentioned. Wouldn't hurt to tape off the edge of the frame and use some plastic sheeting to keep the chems off the paint and rince everything after. Chems I might try: 1. 3m adhesive remover in the red can (not aerosol) 2. Spot Shot 3. Rapid Remover Or maybe just a tablespoon of soap in a bottle of water and a scraper blade. Alcohol won't always do it depending on what the adhesive is polar towards, and can sometimes seem to harden it. If you are BLADING THE GLASS, make a conscious effort to ALWAYS HAVE ONE ARM BEHIND YOUR BACK. Failure to do so can send you to the hospital quickly...this was a tough lesson that I and many others learned the hard way!!!

      Sounds like you just experienced dry adhesive, which chemically forms a bond between glass and adhesive. It is the most successful adhesive for long term visual quality and bond strength (longevity). It IS a real bear to remove at any point after it chemically cures to the glass (usually within 30 days). Lots of blades and elbow grease for sure. My method was to scrape a strip and yank, scrape a strip and yank ... again and again until time to remove the residual adhesive. There are not many 'safe' chemicals that can be used to 'easily' remove it. I do know that a dry adhesive will come away from the surface of glass a little easier when the surface temp is below 40 F. Who has that kind of opportunity other than those in Canada/Alaska type environments. Sad. You can try using 000 or 0000 steel wool in an attempt to remove those marks. Outside of this I cannot remember any others ideas for tackling that.
