roughly 95 width 80 long, most have stripes down the middle which means you can still complete a full hood and hide the seems along the vinyl, my point was just that some bonnets are just so ludicrously large you'd need a 84 inch roll to complete them.

Don't expect too much from the 72" film right out of the gate. We will also have the 72" web available in our PremiumShield Elite SH;  also in late January 2019. We just didn't see the need to market it at SEMA in November when we knew we were at least 3 months away from having any stock :) 

 

This film is not made by Suntek (Eastman). The raw polyurethane is available to all adhesive coaters, and as such, I am sure they will all have some form of the 72" film available early next year. It will not be exclusive to any one brand.

 

I say don't expect too much, because this film is very hard to extrude at wide widths. I remember when we went from 48" out to 60" with the old VentureShield and it was not pretty! Lots of lines in the raw film as well as extrusion bands at the edges. I expect similar growing pains with the 72" wide material. The problem here is that this wide film will most likely be used on massive full hood applications where quality is critical! Also, most likely on very expensive vehicles where there is even more scrutiny. 

 

We will have more information on availability as we get closer, and will have samples available right after Christmas. If you are interested in a sample, please contact the office and we'll put you on the list.

Shots fired against Suntek hey, not sure why. Well they did market it at SEMA and they also did installs of it I believe, which one could assume wouldn't be done if there was quality issues.

 

No one ever said it was exclusive, just that they are first to announce its release as it is a much anticipated size for some. If Premiumshield has quality issues with their 72" rolls then that's their issue, and if you are not expecting much from it then why would you release it, don't release it at all until you are certain the quality is high. I wouldn't be comparing the sub par quality of Ventureshield to the better quality and more forgiving films of today.

      Residential Film without blue hue?

      Hey guys I am in the process of having window film installed in my home but have a question about which brand I should go with. Hoping yall can help me out. I have a room that faces a busy street and as a result my blinds pretty much always stay closed. I love having natural daylight but not so much people being able to see what i'm doing in my room/all my expensive equipment. I used to work in the window film industry as a helper/installer/salesman when I was in highschool and we did a lot residential/commercial work. The specific brand of film we used always left a certain blue and cool appearance. Is there any brand of residential film that does not have this effect? I mainly just cannot stand having blue light amplified and am looking for a film that has a neutral shade to it or even a warm/yellow hue. I have single pane windows and I do not necessarily care about heat rejection but if I have to pay more for a ceramic film rather than a dual reflective or a standard film I am willing to if that helps solve the issue. Again, any help is really appreciated with this there are so many new window film brands out there and it really is cool to see how far the industry has come.

      Automotive Tint Comparison

      LLumar, 3M and Solargard have in the industry as far back as the genesis of window film mid-1960's). Solargard is the younger of the three and all others came to play in the last 20 or so years. I've had all three on my vehicles over the years and my current is 3M Crystalline on my Jeep since 2015. It still has stable color, scratch coat is holding strong and impeccable adhesive clarity. Never been garaged. My choice toady would be 3M or LLumar.

      Hook up with Glassy Business and get all the ins and outs of pro vs DIY with window film. That company goes back way before my retirement in 2015. I want to believe they are/were a Vista Film dealer and I cannot remember the owner's name. Peace out.

      Once more thank you, you are the best I been looking at the specs for the products you mention and info into tinting a window. I recently did wrap my wife's car and it turn out really nice, for what I have been seeing tinting a window is similar and I am tempted to do it myself. With that said I can't find any place to buy the products you mention, I found quite a few films in Amazon but they seem sketchy. There is other web sites selling films but the ones you mention I can’t locate, anyhow is there any place where I can buy this products?

      Forgot to mention; if your house is under HOA, you may have to check in with them. Some, eh hem, many seemingly shy away from having a reflective look to the glass. A dual reflective with a visible light transmission of 35% (ex: NV35) would likely be more palatable to HOA, but not so happy for the owner. Your position to take with them is: The higher the reflectivity of a film product, the better when dealing with desert heat. There exists a necessary (physics) compromise in every window film transaction. Can't please all parties. Glad I could help educate.

      Thank you very much Tinguy1980, I was just about to mess it up. I appreciate your insight! I would have never guessed that the products I was thinking about "run counterintuitive to the use of the product" for the excessive heat. Frankly it does get so hot in that room that at this point I am less about how it looks and more about performance, during summer the AC never stops running in that room, electricity prices here in Las Vegas is up there hence I am trying to invest in ways to cool that room down. Once more thank you for your help I do appreciate it.
