So I have to remove and retint two sets of fronts this morning that the guy that works in the office did this week because they’re all trashed out. I tell the boss that they should have learned their lesson by now and not let that jackass do any tinting and they get offended, saying well sometimes he has to do them because the people can’t come in any other day. Well it’s your reputation that’s on the line by continually letting him tint anything because everything he touches has to be redone and furthermore I spent almost 2 years training this fool and he never grasped the concept even after I made it as simple as I could for him, he can never get a clean install. The guy is not a tinter and never will be one and I’m done redoing his shit, from here on out if it’s jacked up he’ll be the one redoing it until he gets it right. I’m done babysitting and holding his hand. Rant over, lol

I learned a lot in there today, not just about 3M but other brands as well, but the best part of it all was listening to Chip Foose and getting to actually know this man. Awesome man

Thanks y’all, I probably had a 30 45 minuet conversation with him and he’s probably one of the most regular celebrities I’ve ever met. Just hearing how he got started and continued his dream was awesome. I’ve always been a fan but after today I think I’m a life time fan of him. He’s a normal guy just doing what he loves like us and has taking some bad with the good but it didn’t stop him. That gave me motivation

Obsidian is replacing the FX Premium and Nightfall is going to be above colorstable, the color is neutral from the inside looking out but more of a factory looking match from the outside looking in.

Redoing this hood on the Tacoma, has some spots I didn’t approve of. Did I mention I hate black cars!

Tri Edge for me too, I have the kit with all of them in it. Thanks to @Tri-edge, the only hard card I use is the black Teflon card which I only use to shrink rear windows with. I use the pink tri edge with a paper towel to bump my edges and it works better than the yellow one I’ve been using.

    Morning everyone
I’ve used the cheap Wagner and the Jiffy for removal. On the roll ups I use the steamer to remove the film from the sides and bottom only then yank it off only because I hate cleaning glue out the sides and bottom sweeps and I normally pull the bottom seals to make the adhesive clean up easier especially if I’m retinting it. On the rear I bag with the steamer and use tintoff with a five way tool to scrape it off before I scrub it. Just make sure you cover the deck with a towel you don’t mind having glue all over it.

I’m not a fan of them personally, I’ve done remote starters on some that should have been thrown away. My mom purchased one used from an individual and it was nothing like they advertised and was more of a headache than anything. Not saying the one she just purchased is like my moms or any of the the ones I’ve worked on, but there are some issues with them that I’ve noticed across the board and the main one being the electronics. They are sensitive to any and everything when it comes to that, especially the ignition. It’s one of those that having a lot of keys on the ring while the key is in the ignition is not a good idea as the weight on the cylinder will eventually cause a problem.
