KonSiva reacted to Tint Artist in New Florida Window Tinting marketing strategy
I voted for Trump and i'm a registered republican but i would be to afraid some angry democrat would torch my shop or vandalize it! we live in a civil war time as far as politics are concerned! It's bound to offend someone because there stance is different then yours! I want every ones money! Therefor i make it a point not to talk to anyone about religion or politics while i'm at work! Having a cold beer after work at a bar is a different story though! lol cheers!!

KonSiva reacted to Sunbreakers in Benefits of tinting over factory tint ons trucks, SUVs and vans
I would have to respectfully disagree. While a factory tinted window is indeed already shaded, that does not translate to energy efficiency as the heat rejection can be very poor given that perhaps not all but many vehicles have no UV properties in that coating other than the minimum required by federal statutes for automobile glass. My customers are very very content to have me use a very light ceramic film in the rear of the vehicle and find, as I have personally experienced, that it makes a big difference on heat rejection without adding much darkness to what is there. An 80-50% film is a very noticeable improvement and is a market we can honestly serve.

KonSiva reacted to Tintguy1980 in Wierd rainbow streaks
Core (tape) impressions and rainbow streaks are two different issues.
Rainbow streaks are more likely from a phenomenon known as thin-film interference. In the case of window film it is produced by light traveling through the scratch coat and what reflects off the film surface gets split into different colors. As stated, florescent lighting causes the maximum amount and all other light sources usually display this on a much lesser scale. Tempered glass will also contribute to this phenomenon once film is applied to automotive glass.
This thin-film interference rainbow effect can be seen in architectural films real well after dark with inside florescent lighting. To minimize the phenomenon when using architectural films on building glass, the use of LED is recommended.
You can look at the reflection of a set of (untinted) sliding doors off the glass of a picture hanging on the wall and when the light angle of view is right, you will see a rainbow pattern on the tempered glass of the sliders.
Google 'thin-film interference' and read up.

KonSiva got a reaction from Jkatfelix in Influx of installers in the industry?
If you look around..there are plenty of installers looking for work as well. But it has been my experience ... that many cases, most have been placed in positions where speed and high volume tend to override the aspect of quality many places that are hiring seek out. I also believe it is a service that requires a true artist's eye and a careful hand. I think many people lack the willingness and patience to learn. I know , between clear film and tint application..our shop tends to be booked about two weeks out all the time.

KonSiva got a reaction from TintDude in Cutting back windows with dark film (can't see)
Hey everyone, I've been looking for a light i can throw anywhere in a vehicle where i need backlight. I have tried multiple products/flashlights etc. Cant find anything that is useful, so i've created this.... looking to see what others use or what ideas you have come up with.
The pics are an led board I've created. Cheap, bright, effective and very user friendly for experienced and learning tinters.
WOULD YOU BUY ONE? How much would you pay?
