  1. Just mixed to test on ppf and it work perfectly ....had to play around with the mix for the hot humid Houston climate....I end up putting 14ml to 1 gallon of RO water to get that perfect mixed. When I squeegee the film with my yellow turbo it stick instantly....did a full front on a X5 today with it.

This will be my go to slip from now on....Im sick and tried of cleaning my bottle and pressure tank every morning.

  2. The panel just pop off so you can remove the 3rd brake light.  It is remove the same way a BMW 3rd brake light.  Pulled the tab out on each side with a small hook tool.  Every windows on this vehicle will have to be shrink......Good luck on shrinking the front 2 windows. I did this vehicle with 3M Crystalline and it was time consuming.

Hello @liltintgoddess you can contact our warehouse in Houston if you would like to try some of the Ultra Tint Slime. You can reach them at 855-999-8468. Let me know if you need any additional assistance!

How many oz you recommend in Houston humid hot weather....I like a lot of slip because we remove sweep or door panel for most of our install.... Also....we are pulling in vehicle into our tint bay that been sitting in the sun. I will be coming by Monday to get a gallon to try out.  I still have a gallon of the green slim that been sitting since last year.

If you want a clean install, the A pillars have to be removed.

We rarely can do a clean install on the quarter....that we just don't do them no more.  I don't think customer will pay extra $50 for us to remove A-pillar for the little quarter.

Good luck on getting it install...but it will take some time removing that film if it have imperfections.

  5. This is the 2nd RS model we did with 3M Crystalline.  Crystalline 40 on side and back glass and Crystalline 70 on windshield.  Rear top spoiler must be remove for shrinking the back glass for a easy install. Front windshield on this vehicle is big for such a small car.....Not a easy windshield to heat shrink in Crystalline.

There are 7 screw to unscrew to remove rear top spoiler.  The plastic cover will pop off to reveal the 7 screws.  All the blue tape mark all the screw that need to be remove.  The spoiler will pop off with a little muscle on each end.

The front door sweep is super easy to remove.  Remove the door speaker by just popping it off.  Remove cover be hide door handle to reveal screw and unscrew. Get a hook tool and hook out sweep.  Sweep or door panel have to be remove on this vehicle to do a clean install.....TRUST ME!!!

The Back door sweep is the same....

  6. We spent about $600 - $700 in 60" Crystalline 70 and 6-7 hrs to shape it.  We almost had it but almost don't cut it.  It is a difficult windshield to shape using any film you use.....just imagine spending all that time shaping it and got a crease during install. If you guy can do this windshield with Crystalline in one piece....I say charge your customer a premium price because you deserve it. Not a lot of installer or shop have the advance skill, money or time to try it. I gave up on this windshield....If Reckless want to come to Houston....I will line up model X for Crystalline windshield installed.

I'm glad it works for some people. But I had it for 4 months and it brought 1 customer. That customer came after I decided to cancel during the 3rd month.

Here is the secret of Yelp....You got to have many positive reviews to be on top.  We print out a post card that say "Like us, Love Us, Yelp Us" and put our url on the bottom so the customer can review us. Yelper/consumer do not click on your listing if you have little/no or negative reviews..... so if you are not getting any business from Yelp it is because of those reason.  We get 10-20 messages a day from Yelper wanting price quote. We reply back within the hour with our price and why they should pick us over our competitor.

  8. oh man....why did BMW did this...."They hate us tinter" .... I am uploading some picture of what to remove on this model.  Even though you remove it, good luck on doing a very clean install.  It is not a easy clean drop if the car is not prep right. We charge an additional $50 for this model. We explain to the customer our procedure on installation and why we charge the additional $$$$......and guess what ?????what....they all leave it with us!!!! This model is not hard just so time consuming to do a clean install.....Them $99 tint shop are not doing this...Not a profitable model for them to make money.

The back door is easy to take out the sweep. Just pull on the cover and hook out the sweep.  The front door.....pop out the cover behide the door handle and remove the screw. Then....pop out the long light trim and remove only 1 screw...after you pop it out, pulled it toward the back of the door to remove it.  There are 3-4 little clip as everyone mention but if you do it slow....You are ok.  Also....put more J&J or what every you use in your bottle...you will need room and time to wiggle on a hot day. THAT ALL FOLK......

  9. It is all about the relationship.  Most of the time....it don't have nothing to do with how low you can go.  There are deal that are made behide closed door with companies and GM.  I hope you don't go try to take that account from the company you work for.....There are eyes and ears everywhere.  In this business (as a owner) we know what you are up too...sometime before you are up to it.

Just to give you a head up what I have to do to get one high end account.....I brought a $6600 Rolex for the man in charge...He set me up as a vendor and we went on to grossing well over 20K a month.

  10. This is not a YouTube video that you can learn from.....it is understanding how every film react with temperatures of heat....cfm of heat gun...and angle of the air flow to bend the film and have it tighten......I have guys I train with 20+ yrs experience just to walk back to the shop to find out that they went back to the traditional method to shrink 3M Crystalline.....It won't work on that film or Huper Ceramic...but yes the traditional method work on traditional dye, carbon and Hp film...plus this method is good for any one learning and also experienced installer that have tuff time on VW Golf, X5 and back glass vehicle with rear spoiler....

  11. Yes...look at the Instagram.......can't show you all the secrets..... There more to it.......

we shrink film differently than most installer...we don't even put direct heat on the film just the edge....I can teach you this technique in 2 days. It will take you months to years to learn to shrink back glass on different vehicles using the traditional method. No school will teach you this method....we install so much 3M Crystalline that we invented this method....and no it is not a ballon method....we used this method to shrink back glass on a VW Golf in less than 5min....same with BMW X5...all suv with rear spoiler are cake using this method....

Look at our instagram page @midtownmotortrends

Sure sounds like the baloon method ... Any videos ?

  13. Certified don't mean nothing.....Experience is everything...

We just got our 3M Crystalline Certified after installing it for almost 7rs....They just started this class

We got our 3M PPF certified by Steven Burn like 6 yrs ago....

We got our Xpel Certified last yrs....

Just sub out the tint....that what I would recommend.  Having 3 location....I am not able to do installation all the time but I alway oversee the work....Junk don't leave out of my shop..
