3 screws to remove door panels
1 right behind door handle
(remove plastic)
1 down in arm rest handle
(remove rubber pad)
1 down low under the curve of the door handle, may need a light to see but you will find a small cover, remove with hook tool.
These steps are for BOTH front and back panels, very easy!
backglass has a unique matrix line that outlines the 3rd brake light. You will get a small amount of silvering. Using dotrix or glue are pretty much out of the question.
Quarter glasses are very easy to do. Also the rear pillar covers around the BG pop right off and help a lot with BG as well as the quarters.

I'd be inclined to just tint that one all the way up
Don’t think I’ll get any silvering or peeling?
Also the county in Indiana that I’m located they don’t give 2 s***s about Tint. They’re too busy fighting crack heads to care. So I’m not at all worried about that.

If third lights have a border around them I generally don't cover them. Some I do but most no. The ones I do though I don't do anything special to just tint them. Can you post a pic of that one?
Wasn’t letting me tag you for some reason.... pics are up

I could cover the matrix light and all with dotrix but that seems awfully dumb.

I have that 2013 Hyundai Azera in today that I had posted about earlier this week.
There is a matrix at the top that outlines the 3rd brake light. Anyone know if these will lay down on the dots properly? If you glued then you’d have glue on the bare glass in front of the brake light.

The difference between Express and SolarFX when it comes to shrinking is nuts. Can’t wait to burn thru some stock and order some SolarFX.

You guys prefer slip tape over cards with felt on them? Never used slip tape but have a couple hard cards with felt and like them a lot... use them on the inside of glass and whenever I’m working with side windows

I’ve only got about 30 cars under my belt. And out of those 30 cars 2007 Volkswagen Passat has def been my least favorite..... F**k that thing lol.

i tried to shrink a coup honda civic bg side ways and it was extremely difficult. try it if you have film to waste. youll never know until you try.
Really? I figured it would be about the same..... just sideways lol.
-
I know some ppl have mentioned getting the most out of their film on roll ups by running and shrinking sideways. Is it good or bad to do the same on a bg or windshield?
Ive tried to tint my windshield on my 14’ Ford Focus a few times and it’s about unbearable. However if I did it sideways no doubt in my mind it would be really easy.
Anyone for or against doing it this way?

Those camaro seals are attached at the rear side of the door. Pull it up from by mirror and just let it hang.
The seals on the 370 Z are one of the easiest to pull with panel on. Just remove 1 - 10mm bolt at handle pull.
Heck yeah thanks for the info! will help out big time.
-
Otherwise whoever originally did it did a kickass job. Looks good besides the peeling:

370's like to peel in the front bottom corners of the door for some reason. You might pull panels on that one
Yep that’s exactly why I’m redoing it lol.

I have this camaro and a good friend of mine wants his side windows redone on his Nissan 370Z so I’m looking forward to having some nice cars added to the portfolio.
-
Cool thanks guys. I briefly saw the vehicle but didn’t get all the details. Just so long as I survive the quarter glass and back I think I’ll be ok I’ll go ahead and give them a quote on it. Thanks again!

Have a customer that wants one done. The backglass is very small and everything else about those cars doesn’t seem bad. Anything specific to look out for on these?
-
Mine would prob only ever go about 5 days max sitting without being used. I use fusion mount solution and it is pretty thin so I think im gonna try and keep whatever I have and see how it goes.
-
If you guys have alot of slip solution left over at the end of your job, do you somehow store it and keep it or do you dump it out and make fresh everytime you tint? I like to have a ton of slip when i tint so if I could save some of it then that would be awesome. Or would your bottle get build up in the bottom from it sitting around?
