Steve, who REALLY makes the film and where?

They own a coating machine (not a full manufacturing plant). I believe it's in NC from what has been posted on here.

Seems TOTALLY FULL manufacturing plant have ONLY Indians. From granula with PET till finished product. All other - have no. IMHO.

And I really don't know how many "MFG's" grown from Garware rib, except Global.

And - as I told 100000000000 times, IMHO it doesn't matter.

90% of things in this world are sold NOT BY MANUFACTURERS.

But this is long and useless topic. Also I can tell You for sure that MFG's buy products from each other and so on.

I'm not sure what threads you can't find, I've only moved this one.

The way some threads go south here, and I wind up getting the blame from both sides, I decided to move this thread, I wasn't trying to give anyone "the short end of the stick".

I don't think anyone blames you. but how long does this stuff hang around? Is there an "archive"? I have tried to pull up several old threads, and alot of attachments seem to be gone. :beer Could be to save space? Bandwidth?

Two different points of view about a situation that affects people's livelihoods. Most of us do not run a web site and understand how these conversations affect you TD, conversely, you do not run a flat glass company in today's business environment and completely understand how company practices like as in Aegis' case or others like Aegis affect the rest of us. I can see how it is very sensitive either way but as long as there is a place for industry pros to talk, and as long as companies do business on both sides of the fence, these subjects are bound to come up around here.

You are my new hero.

Did'nt miss it at all, boys. Read it and it still says the truth. He does'nt supply to shops in an area the installation company works in, so not to compete agianst them. Spin it anyway you want, still says the same thing. Does'nt say they Don't do installation, only says he can't see supplying to an area and then competing against. Does he supply you?? No.

Oh, and took ya long enough to start slandering me in this fashion. Just because I see fit to back a company that I install, does'nt mean I work for them. If you have some proof of this, please supply me with pay stubs or something so I can get money owed, since I have never received a penny from them. Again, another example of inuendo and rumor teetering on a bold faced lie, as YOU so eloquently put in so many times!! You have nothing here, but, let's see how many times you will post the same lie.As history shows, probably over and over!!!

The truth shall set you free, but,as Jack said, YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!

They do compete with the customers they sell film to. It's called a conflict of interest. Shady way to operate a distribution business, I think.

      Cracked glass

      The crack indicates thermal stress, however, the edge of the glass may have an imperfection (bur or clam shell chip). The crack does run 90 degrees out from the edge and curves as it follows any weaknesses in the pane itself. I have attached a pictured of what tempered glass looks like when it breaks and alongside it what a plate (or float) and heat-strengthened glass looks like when it breaks. The outer panel my be tempered should indicate so by a stamp etched on the glass surface in one corner. It should indicate tempered. Plate glass has no indicators, however, heat-strengthened glass will crack in the same manner as plate glass. I'm an unsure whether heat-strengthened glass requires a stamp. Tempered glass is 4 times stronger than plate and heat-strengthened is 2 times stronger than plate. 1 in 24 is indicative of edge imperfection. I could not find the solar absorption rate of DN 50, but if it is similar to competitive films, there should be no issue with that installation setting (including a straight line shadow). This, too, points back to edge imperfection as the cause. And finally, I spy drapes in a close position, correct? If so, it would be helpful to crack open during sun exposure; this to assist in allowing trapped heat between the glass and drapes to dissipate.

      Cracked glass

      Hello. I recently installed Johnson Daylight Natural DN 50 on a couple of windows. Solar energy rejection is 39%. The windows are double pane and the glass is supposed to be tempered 4mm + tempered 6mm. The roof overhang shades the top 1/3 - 1/2 of the windows. However, a few days after installation I noticed that one of the glass has cracked, presumably due to thermal stress. Should I remove the film from the rest of the windows? I installed the film on 24 of these windows (6 tiny houses) so now 1 out of 24 is broken. Or is it more likely that I just got unlucky and the glass had a defect? Is shading from the roof overhang such a big factor? The glass cracked. Is it really tempered? I thought tempered glass would shatter, but not crack. Thanks!

      Take a look at 3M's Nightvision or LLumar's Dual Reflective series, they both have a warm tone to them.

      Automotive Tint Comparison

      Steer clear of Black Armour, Suntek, ASWF. The others are good choices if you are in Australia. Check out the reviews of the installer too. It’s not just the materials that have to be proper. Never go for the cheapest!!!

      Residential Film without blue hue?

      Hey guys I am in the process of having window film installed in my home but have a question about which brand I should go with. Hoping yall can help me out. I have a room that faces a busy street and as a result my blinds pretty much always stay closed. I love having natural daylight but not so much people being able to see what i'm doing in my room/all my expensive equipment. I used to work in the window film industry as a helper/installer/salesman when I was in highschool and we did a lot residential/commercial work. The specific brand of film we used always left a certain blue and cool appearance. Is there any brand of residential film that does not have this effect? I mainly just cannot stand having blue light amplified and am looking for a film that has a neutral shade to it or even a warm/yellow hue. I have single pane windows and I do not necessarily care about heat rejection but if I have to pay more for a ceramic film rather than a dual reflective or a standard film I am willing to if that helps solve the issue. Again, any help is really appreciated with this there are so many new window film brands out there and it really is cool to see how far the industry has come.

      Automotive Tint Comparison

      LLumar, 3M and Solargard have in the industry as far back as the genesis of window film mid-1960's). Solargard is the younger of the three and all others came to play in the last 20 or so years. I've had all three on my vehicles over the years and my current is 3M Crystalline on my Jeep since 2015. It still has stable color, scratch coat is holding strong and impeccable adhesive clarity. Never been garaged. My choice toady would be 3M or LLumar.

      South facing window tint

      Hook up with Glassy Business and get all the ins and outs of pro vs DIY with window film. That company goes back way before my retirement in 2015. I want to believe they are/were a Vista Film dealer and I cannot remember the owner's name. Peace out.
