Heres a tip for those who reverse roll, as I do. Put all Your tools, paper towels , sprayer bottle in the back seat. Peel n Roll film. Take it into car with You, and THEN clean the back window and install film. One time getting in the back seat, one time getting out. :bingo

usually if I let the film sit too long wet before applying its too tacky and sticks to the window in spots causing it to crease.

When Your spraying the film, hose down the liner too....it shouldn't take more than a minute or two to properly clean your back window....thats not enough time for the adhesive to tack up.

the other day I tried to taco fold and just the time from peeling and spraying, to folding and putting it inside it was already taking to itself pretty good when I went to unfold it. I had to scrap that piece because it touched the seat when I was fighting to unfold it, and I was worried if I did get it unfolded about having glue smearing

Uh....My speed tip was for a reverse roll...not a "taco Fold"...no wonder ... Your putting adhesive to adhesive and wondering why its tacking up? Liner has no adhesive, thats why You can transfer it to the car before You clean Your back window without it tacking.. Your telling Me My tip doesnt work for You , and Your not even using it? WTF? :dunno

shrink side first to get gun warmed up

shrink back glass

clean and install back glass

clean and install side and dont waste time popin panel's

smoke a cig wipe her down give it a once over and send it on it's way"

This is how I do mine. Except I clean and install doors then clean and install back glass. I quadruple cut the doors if I have two of the same car to do. Also I don't use a peel board. That probably saves time.

I didn't refer directly to your tip. I was just saying in general if I let the film sit for too long it starts to take up. Even with R/R if I let it sit more than a couple minutes rolled up when I unroll it its already tacking up and does the same thing. Same with side windows Once its been squeegeed down once you can't move it at all since it tacks up really fast. I guess SlipEase does that to ya

Sometimes I franky (smaller back windows and hatches), sometimes I reverse roll (trucks usually) and sometimes I taco (big ass back windows since I'm not a giant). I never have problems with it tacking up or dry spots when rolling or taco-ing but I use a spray bottle with more slip added to prevent it... :dunno And as for speed, especially when I was first starting out, I found double cutting side windows, doing anything with placing tools wherever so you're not making double trips and taking extra steps around the shop, and early on stopping as soon as I made a mistake and just redoing it made it quicker than screwing around with something I wasn't happy with. I always find the biggest killer for time with me is having to take extra steps around the shop or looking for things... 30 seconds here, couple minutes there, all really adds up. Basically just don't dick around :lol

      Automotive Tint Comparison

      1) Why avoid Suntek? I thought they resolved that issued with the easy scratching and that they are one of the market leaders in Australia? Also, it seems most of the well established Tint businesses use Suntek 2) I've heard mixed things about Rayno, with some installers raving about it and others disparaging it. Makes it difficult for the consumer to know the truth, given vested interests exist. 3) Is Ultragard a Australian exclusive product? The IP seems to be owned by GTS FILMS PTY LTD. How's the quality as it seems to have limited installers. 4) Is the MEP Films CNP that apparently are Manufactured by LLumar of the same quality as the LLumar tints (such as Llumar Formula One Stratos; Llumar Formula One Pinnacle; Llumar CTX)? 5)

      Cracked glass

      The crack indicates thermal stress, however, the edge of the glass may have an imperfection (bur or clam shell chip). The crack does run 90 degrees out from the edge and curves as it follows any weaknesses in the pane itself. I have attached a pictured of what tempered glass looks like when it breaks and alongside it what a plate (or float) and heat-strengthened glass looks like when it breaks. The outer panel my be tempered should indicate so by a stamp etched on the glass surface in one corner. It should indicate tempered. Plate glass has no indicators, however, heat-strengthened glass will crack in the same manner as plate glass. I'm an unsure whether heat-strengthened glass requires a stamp. Tempered glass is 4 times stronger than plate and heat-strengthened is 2 times stronger than plate. 1 in 24 is indicative of edge imperfection. I could not find the solar absorption rate of DN 50, but if it is similar to competitive films, there should be no issue with that installation setting (including a straight line shadow). This, too, points back to edge imperfection as the cause. And finally, I spy drapes in a close position, correct? If so, it would be helpful to crack open during sun exposure; this to assist in allowing trapped heat between the glass and drapes to dissipate.

      Cracked glass

      Hello. I recently installed Johnson Daylight Natural DN 50 on a couple of windows. Solar energy rejection is 39%. The windows are double pane and the glass is supposed to be tempered 4mm + tempered 6mm. The roof overhang shades the top 1/3 - 1/2 of the windows. However, a few days after installation I noticed that one of the glass has cracked, presumably due to thermal stress. Should I remove the film from the rest of the windows? I installed the film on 24 of these windows (6 tiny houses) so now 1 out of 24 is broken. Or is it more likely that I just got unlucky and the glass had a defect? Is shading from the roof overhang such a big factor? The glass cracked. Is it really tempered? I thought tempered glass would shatter, but not crack. Thanks!

      Residential Film without blue hue?

      Take a look at 3M's Nightvision or LLumar's Dual Reflective series, they both have a warm tone to them.

      Steer clear of Black Armour, Suntek, ASWF. The others are good choices if you are in Australia. Check out the reviews of the installer too. It’s not just the materials that have to be proper. Never go for the cheapest!!!

      Residential Film without blue hue?

      Hey guys I am in the process of having window film installed in my home but have a question about which brand I should go with. Hoping yall can help me out. I have a room that faces a busy street and as a result my blinds pretty much always stay closed. I love having natural daylight but not so much people being able to see what i'm doing in my room/all my expensive equipment. I used to work in the window film industry as a helper/installer/salesman when I was in highschool and we did a lot residential/commercial work. The specific brand of film we used always left a certain blue and cool appearance. Is there any brand of residential film that does not have this effect? I mainly just cannot stand having blue light amplified and am looking for a film that has a neutral shade to it or even a warm/yellow hue. I have single pane windows and I do not necessarily care about heat rejection but if I have to pay more for a ceramic film rather than a dual reflective or a standard film I am willing to if that helps solve the issue. Again, any help is really appreciated with this there are so many new window film brands out there and it really is cool to see how far the industry has come.
