Peeling Liner

I like to just leave the liner all the way on, then once I have it totally in place I slide it out real quick like a table cloth on a table with dishes. It leaves a ton of creases and dirt but it's fast. So fast in fact I can charge under a bill for a four door.

Can I offer you a tip then?

:spit

I pull the liner all the way off for ease of installation only. No trying to get film AND liner tucked underneath the side gaskets....or when Your pulling the remainder of the liner off, and You peel the film right back off the window a little, allowing air and dust to rush in, or dirt from the side gaskets when You pull the film back out, even a little bit....or the static electricity issue that attracts dust...and on and on. There are a myriad of reasons to pull the entire liner off prior to installing the film on the window. As for the film touching the door panel.....it doesn't. I use a technique taught to Me many years ago, that I have never seen another tinter use. As a matter of fact...that may be My next TOTW candidate! :spit

I have never once had any of those problems, once I figured out the proper way to leave some of the liner on... For example you dont pull the liner out, you pull it down. secondly your other hand is along the back of the film to ensure it does not come out on you...

This is just a retarded statement!!!!! It is the posts like these that make this site so much less useful then it once was! Simply because you are not capable of doing something, is no reason for you to knock it... But hey its the internet and the forums are all full of idiots who cant except that something maybe better then what they do or have..

Felix was obviously joking. The humor is what makes this site work in my humble opinion Pierce, it's always been like this. It would be pretty boring without humor. :spit

What Felix said was farkin HILARIOUS! I just gave a tip to try and help My fellow tinters out. If You want to try it, fine. If You don't want to try it , that's fine to. This was a tip about peeling liner so You don't get contamination from Your peelboard, NOT about leaving the liner on, or taking it all the way off. I've tinted windows both ways. Leaving liner on, and peeling the entire liner. I prefer My way. If You like leaving the liner on, and You get good results, then by all means, keep doing it that way! :thumb

I read the tip and thought a very good tip. Then I read further and saw this:

Can I offer you a tip then? Instead of pulling the liner from the bottom and working your way up. Turn the piece upside down and pull the liner only 3/4 of the way off the piece. This way you still have the liner on the bottom section of the film that touches the door panel, and prtotecting it from any dirt that maybe on it.

Which is how I do it, so I had nothing to add and decided to interject some humor. Didn't mean to step on any ones toes.

static isnt an issue once you stray water on the film.

Oh, thats right, if its not _________ <--- (insert name here) way, it must be the wrong way. Whatever. I'm confident in My technique, and My end results.....as My paycheck will verify! :thumb
