So does 30 not fly on most newer cars. :dunno

I used to have a meter, but it got away. :thumb

Well, in my case, Wincos 30 is actually 34%VLT, so it works. If its a true 30%VLT film, then prob not. 30% should meter around 22%-24% depending out the original VLT of the glass.

exactly right.... just because the film is a 30% that does not mean it's legal,,,,

I have a friend here locally thats installing 28% and 30% on doors,,, I've told him thats not legal but he keeps claiming that it is to his customers... I had to redo a set for him the other day with a ticket involved,

they had like you said TJ "23%" reading on from a meter. with 25% being the limit with the 3%+/- allowance it was 2% to the bad! therefore TICKET is the result..

I hate it because sometimes I have to install a 35% to keep them just above the 25% mark and sometimes it falls around 29%-31% ...
