Hey TD, I understand about NSI now and how the security film holds it together brilliantly, but what I was wondering is how they secure the film to the frame of the window so that the whole panel doesn't fall etc, do you have any pics of this or can you describe how they do it. I have tinted with security film before but cut it to the size of the pane.

Yep, got that one, just that I have never had to do security film for the specific purpose of halting the danger of NSI, therefore I have never had to anchor it as such....got any pics anyone of this anchoring process

a mechanical attachement is done by overlapping the film onto the frame (either on the two sides or all the way around - four sided) most guys will use double sided tape to stick the film to the frame then come back with about 1" wide metal to drill through the film and frame.

If the glass is annealed, not tempered, you will not have to do this for NI
