Does anyone known the specs on the 3m film?

This film came out in the early 90's. It has a five year warranty (residential and commercial) The EnerLogic is lifetime residential and 15 year commercial.

FYI

But will EnerLogic last even the 15 years ?...... :blind

3M has had Low-E films for over 25 years.

Yes. The 3M film is the same film from 25 years ago LE35 AMARL it uses a different liner that fails in 5 years or less. A 3M Low e sold in 1990 would have failed by 1995. It's obsolete.

The EnerLogic film uses a completely different process than Le35. Will Solutia sell the same version 25 years from now? I sure as hell hope not!

I love it when the LLumar/3M battles begin. FANTASTIC !!!!

In the spirit of decorum per Obama. .I will try to be nice while explaining how an obsolete 3M low e film that fails after 5 years, has less than half the insulating capabilities of EnerLogic, can be considered in the same conversation. It's like Lebron dunking on a midget!

:bingo

Last September we had to remove 1800 sf of 3M Low E. Customer said it was 8 or 10 years old. Looked to me like film that was 20 plus years old.

Thank you for the spirited input! I am impressed by the Enerlogic film. However, Vista is unrealistic in their requirements for a dealership so I am looking elsewhere unfortunately....

Is there any documentation about the 3M Low-E film having longevity issues?
