How can I fix this

The side of my console is pulling away on the drives side on my 1988 Trans Am GTA.

Any ideas on how I can fix this...?

You need some really strong glue mike. If you have some black 995 around. You might be able to reglue the foam to ths sides of the plastic form with that. Also you might try Windsheild urethane. That stuff will glue anything together. Put some down each side, and tape it back tight with masking tape.

Mike, If you get some 1/8 sheet metal in strips. You can use that as bracing to glue the 995 around and that will help stop the bowing.

Yea I have some Dow 995....

I think I may have to get some of the old foam out before I try any type of glue or 995.

I like the idea of the bracing Tom, I did not really give that a thought.

I'd say....years of spilled coffee. That's basically what's holding the console together in my 91 Jeep.

Find a good one at at a wrecking yard and swap it out ?
