F-150 Back Seat Removal!

Here we have the back seat of a newer-model F-150. The headrest cannot be removed to allow access to the back window.

Here the back seat has been removed. How'd I do that? Well look closely at the metal framework behind the seat bottom. You'll see two black plastic hook-shaped pieces. That's all that holds it in.

Closer look at the plastic bracket.

Very close look. This bracket is impossible to see with the seat-back in. However you can easily feel the bottom hook portion when you reach your hand in. Now, notice the two arch shapes on the top? The top one does nothing, but the lower one is the part that holds the seat in. You have to maneuver your hand behind the seat-back and pull this hook towards the back of the truck. Once it's out of the way, the seat-back will lift straight up. Repeat this process on the other side and it's out!

had a glass guy teach me that trick a while back because of all the sliders they are replacing under factory warranty...but I don't see any need to take out the seat in those trucks.

If you fold the bottom of rear seat up, the headrests will come out btw....at least on the Canadian model they do.

no need to take the seat out.yes they do come out but putting em back in is a pita.

Some of them come out, not all. Some of them even fold down with a button on the side of the headrest. The base models do not.
