Working on a 10K sq ft job that was done 2 months ago.  The original install is simply jaw dropping...

So, removing Huper silver film, and in my 14 years of tinting, I have never removed such a difficult adhesive.  I will add, it was installed on coated glass.  Solution I came up with today to try and cut down on 6 blades per window and an hour worth of removal, was to soak in mineral spirits for an hour and a half, scrape what I can, then go back with Goof Off on a paper towel to remove the rest of the residue.  Takes about 15-20 for removal of each window now @ 47x68.  Lots more to go.

We removed and relaced 30 year old tint from a house yesterday! Without a doubt the oldest, crispy, powdery and nasty FG tint I have ever encountered!

Just curious what's the oldest FG film you have come across?

Was that Darth Vaders holiday home?

It was indeed the country escape purchased by Lord Vader and his friend Grand Moff Tarkin before the moff fell out of favour with Darth Vader. A nice place overlooking a farm where he seemed to be making plans to build a new Death Star to smash the rebel alliance.....
