I'm a little confused.  Is there an issue here  It sounds to me like the film did exactly what it was supposed to do  

I have never noticed impact impression before on cars I have pulled film from. But although we do about 10 PPF installs a week I don't remove film to often.I have a Corolla coming in tomorrow that she scuffed the bumper and we are redoing it so I will see how that looks. But it has only been on for about 5 months.

I think this happens more than you think.  I also think some of the "dents"  can't be seen until you do pull the film off.  Do you do PDR also??

I think, like you said Jake,  the installers are not removing much unless it is soon after install.  Not much film is being removed after 3-4years, so no one is seeing the dents that show up after years of being protected.   I bet the body shops are seeing it different than we do.

As it was said before, sounds like the film did it's job.

I guess that's why it's considered "Paint Protection Film" and not "Dent Protection Film"

you would be right sir. saves the customer from having to get a new paint job. A little pdr and you've restored the OEM paint to retain the most value on that vehicle for trade in when it's time.

I guess dent was the wrong word to use. You could not PDR them. A better term would be rock impression in the paint.

I saw these impressions in the plastic bumper cover. Where were yours Jake?

I've managed to have dents fixed on a front bumper with the film still in place with perfect results.
