So even the top shelf film on any big brand should only last 5 years?

Is that what you guys are seeing from the most expensive films? because that's what I would expect from Gila tint.

Some of you guys assume everyone leases a car and gets rid of it every 3 years. The average length of car ownership in the US is 11.4 years.

Anyway, JWF came through finally and located a shop for me.

Some of you need to chill out. I came here to share some anecdotal info and ask some questions. I'm not the enemy here.

I would like to see where you found that the average length of car ownership in the US is 11.4 years! The average marriage doesn't even last that long anymore!

I didn't say the films only last 5 years. I said that the manufacture give the warranty with the "average trade time" of 5 years. Quality films will last for a LONG time but even the best films don't last forever.

New films should be QUV tested and have a good expected life but everything in the WORLD is out to destroy them.

Glad that it worked out for you.

Johnsons warranty dept is worthless. They will never email back a straight answer. They dodge around warrantys issues.

Look what there warranty states 100% satisfaction policy. Ive seen guys sell there film many different ways promising the moon.

Some shop state johnsons films wont fade or change color, The only film that says fading is there executive series of which we can't install on most cars due to metal in film.

Try emailing johnsons about this and you will get the dance around the question.

Never a straight answer, there warranty was probably written by an reputable lawyer.
