we do full car inspections testing everything on the car before we tint it. just so we are not held responsible (unless we mess something up) and they custy signs it.

It happened to me too.  It gets wet and shrinks in the sun.  I had to replace the entire dash for the customer.  It was a brand new Cherokee and they didn't want to take to upholstery shop.  Cost me over 4,000 for the new dash.  I don't do cars with leather inserts on the dash anymore.

It’s a factory problem with those, even if the dash doesn’t get directly wet, when you pull the car out into the heat. The humidity will cause the end closest to the windshield to curl and peel. Last year we had to call in a favor to get one warrantied at the dealer. Turns out it wasn’t a problem because they had been replacing those often, many never got tint either.

I think part of the problem is the world "greening " up using water based adhesives instead of the good old toxic ones that worked.

I see it sometimes  in fresh carpet installs below a fresh film install that the carpet lifts if it was trimmed at the glass instead of putting carpet down and the glass channels later.
