Shrinking and installing sideways

I know some ppl have mentioned getting the most out of their film on roll ups by running and shrinking sideways. Is it good or bad to do the same on a bg or windshield? 

 

Ive tried to tint my windshield on my 14’ Ford Focus a few times and it’s about unbearable. However if I did it sideways no doubt in my mind it would be really easy. 

 

Anyone for or against doing it this way?

i tried to shrink a coup honda civic bg side ways and it was extremely difficult. try it if you have film to waste. youll never know until you try.

Really? I figured it would be about the same..... just sideways lol.

It seems to me most windows are wider then they are tall so you have more area to shrink top and bottom.

Fingers get too big and long when u do it sideways for some reason up and down for me!

Use side shrinking for f150 side Windows and some trucks that's about it with 36 inch roll...

I never have understood shrinking flat windows....

No offense and I mean no offense you really just need to work on shrinking. When I was learning windshields it did seem they were a little bit more of a struggle to me as well. I think though if you keep at it you'll get to where it's no big deal. Practice and cuss words makes perfect brotha.

I’ve found that the tint I use for windshields is thicker than for the sides. So it’s more of an art in shaping thicker tint . So what I’ve found is if you put the tint across the windshield , and you don’t trim the tint down at all and start shaping you will have better results than If you trim the tint down and then start shaping the tint .😉
