  1. Probably!! :lol2

Shop just called... it's the wheel bearing - which I kindof figured. Said the control arm bushings, ball joints, swaybar link.. need to be replaced as well. I knew about the control arm... so that wasn't a surprise either. Rest I didn't know... this shop was referred to me by a friend, so I think they are trust worthy.  $1100 for everything. Of course I don't have that.... Said he could just do the drivers side which is where the bad wheel bearing is - and since he'll be in there anyway... doesn't make sense not to do the other stuff. $650 for just that side. So that's what they are going to do. I'll get the rest done when I got the money.

Always something. I just can not ride my grom this winter... I need a car that's fairly safe to drive. lol

  2. Took my car to the shop.. it's making a grinding noise. I've been using this shop for like 6 yrs between my truck and my dad's truck...

They 'couldn't find anything wrong' and gave it back. :blink

I know it's a german car... but it's almost 20 yrs old... so it's not like new tech or anything.

It's at another shop now - hopefully they can figure it out. :dunno

  3. Llumar has a horrendous history of film curling off the glass.....it's shameful that Eastman can't do the same.

I can't agree more. For any manufacturer.

This wasn't my job... Just hired as an installer.... So my 'care' is somewhat limited... Still.... I'd like to see what work I did was up to par. Hard to do that when film isnt.... Adequate.

The biggest issue, with this job at least, is that scaffolding needed to be setup to do it. So if the film does curl, it's a whole other ball of wax trying to fix it.

Regardless, still not happy with Vista at this time. Lol
  4. No one said we should use it... and like I said, I'm not familiar with that film..  of course after the fact I thought we should have - wouldn't have hurt anything... and might have helped.

Haven't gotten any calls yet. Hopefully everything stayed down. Scaffolding needed to be set up for it.. gonna be a pain in the butt if it doesn't set properly and we need to go back.

Not sure if I'll do work for this guy again, but in the event I do - I'll have to remember that... use x100. :thumb

  5. Did a job for another tint shop the other day.. using v51 on a 'sunroom'... skylights and side windows. Sun wasn't hitting the room until later in the afternoon... got there around 9am.. completed by 2pm. The skylights seemed to be ok.. the side windows tons of curling issues.

I'm not a vista dealer.. I worked for a vista dealer years ago, but we used v28, 38, 48, 58... never had any issues with those. v51 - I don't even know what that is :lol  But I put it up.

Is this film prone to curl??

Was super pissed seeing window after window curling. Waiting around like 90 min and did what we could... hopefully it didn't all curl off the windows after we left. :dunno

Just curious if it's just one of those films that has this issue. Which pisses me off - like... dude.. get your crap straight. Window film isn't new. There are reasons films curl.... and while I will agree, for residential, it's still kindof niche... like... it just pissed me off when this crap happens, in 2019. Like really????
