This new Defender got the CTX treatment with a 35% on the front doors, 15% on the rear windows and an Air 80 on the windshield. This was kinda fun to do.

Correct. I've done, I think three of them so far.
The other two were charcoal-ish. One matched pretty good to HP30, but was kind of 'off' just a bit. On the other charcoal package I tried an 18 Ceramic per request and was also close, but no cigar.
It reminds me of the late 90s when I was stacking 50 Platinum with 30 Bronze to match some of the Ford and Chrysler products. I doubt the trend takes off again.

Multiple?? Wow! That’s crazy! This factory tint package is awful in my opinion.

Anyone work on one and have any problems with it? Looks easy to tint just wondering if there are any precautions noted on these things. Thanks in advance!
One thing to note is the reflective glass on all sides and rear.

I didn't have any issues expect for matching the color. I ended up using a Global 70% ceramic. It has a slight brassy twing and looked appropriate afterwards. I've noticed multiple glass package colors from the factory.

Their PPF is made in the USA, the tint doesn't specify so I can't say 100%. I remember reading in a thread a while back that it was being manufactured for them by Garware/Global but take that with a grain of salt because it's unverified hearsay. As far as the film itself it's all black toned with no real distinct undertone (blue/green/brown/etc.) in the lines/shades I carry. It's got a great scratch coat on it that you can get pretty aggressive with and the liner peels easy. I typically get it within 2-4 days depending on how early in the day I get my order in and which warehouse it ships from. The majority comes from San Antonio so it's quick to me and I'd imagine even quicker to you given your proximity. Every once in a while a roll will come from California and those ones usually take an extra day or two compared to Texas but it's never been an issue.

These times are definently different and unlike any other time I’ve known. If gas keeps going up folks will have less for the luxury of window film at least for a time. The length of that time is the big iffy part. I was hoping more tinters would chime in on this to get a feel of what’s going on and hear their strategies on surviving this cluster f….

You won't or shouldn't be able to.   That would get the Llumar dealer in deep crap.

That's a very expensive film also...

The first time I saw the new gmc up close I called it a ford tundra. The dodge products may all look like fishing lures but I find that preferable to the manga art that keeps creeping into the design language.

I recall the SEMA 2016 show where nearly every truck was going big and bold with those huge honking grills and in my opinion that made them all look so alike that for me it made it hard to distinguish between them. But then they were also blowing up the brand names to be so stinking HUGE that the confusion was short lived.😂

Silver's good but I certainly wouldn't park ALL your money in it. Silver, gold, copper jacketed lead, other durable goods, some crypto, spread it out so that you're not reliant on any one thing.
So far I'm staying the course largely as normal. The local dealers seem to have a little more inventory trickling in, most are still presold. While budgets are getting tighter for pretty much everybody I'm finding that people are more receptive to investing more into protecting their vehicles because they know they're going to be keeping them longer.

I'm buying in pretty deep on the films I use the most in case of shtf. The lesser requested products I'm going to burn through and possibly phase out. I don't see oil getting any cheaper so I can't imagine film will either.

Silver is good (I keep a small bit myself) but I've also heard the argument that lead is more easily divisible if barter becomes more prevalent. After living through multiple hurricanes I've also learned to keep plenty of dry/canned goods around for when power stays down for more than a couple of days.

Spray it with ATR again and let it soak, back blade to scrape glue off (meaning drag a blade not push and take off defrosters).

Ya gotta pay to play. Stocking your shop to start out is always going to be a hefty investment up front. As far as shades go your market will dictate what you need to carry but I'd seriously consider adding a 15 or 20 to your mix.  In my shop I stock 5, 20, and 35 in a color stable dyed line as well as 5, 15, 20, 35, 55, and 70 in ceramic. I primarily use a plotter to cut so all my film is stocked in 40" rolls and I always have one full roll of film in reserve alongside the open one so I never run out of a given shade.

Like Highplains was saying. You need to carry whatever shade is legal in your area, a medium shade and some limo.  And then possibly some windshield film. Your customers will ultimately determine what you stock them most of.

I have to add that with Llumar, you better have the customer base to keep ordering.  If you only order ever now and then and don't spend the amount of money THEY want you to spend, they will pull their film from you or go up on your pricing.  Good with them but be careful.

I mostly use a ton of 35% (i push the 35% i feel it's the sweet spot where you have tint and the cops don't mind it), then second is 20%. and distant 3rd is 5%.
If you want to save a few dollars get 36" rolls.
for the 35% and 20% i try to keep 40"x100' and 20"x100' rolls of each shade, if things are tight you can easily split the 40".
to answer your question maybe start with 35% and 20% and some 5% (i'm in the Northeast, you're area may have different laws and preferences. Some areas want ceramic more, around my area they just want their windows darker).
I don't know why it's important to be a Llumar dealer, i've never had a customer ask for it or any brand really, you can buy rolls here and there at a time from other companies without minimums. And the only time i saw someone install Llumar the film curved towards instead of away, i feel like that alone would drive me nuts. Just my 2 cents.

I use Global and get it from Dragon Distributing. There have been some times they have not had exactly what I needed in stock due to them getting shipments in.  Ceramic seems to be more of an issue than the regular QDP (at least on my end). So yes, I now call way ahead of time to make sure something is in stock and to find out THEIR delivery date(which is a questionable date in itself) if it's not in stock.
