Looks good No Ma'am .
Memories huh @Sunbreakers Memories of having to watch your feet because of ALL THE WIRES HANGING FROM UNDER THE DASH of a particular Iroc Convertible
That's what I remember. I swear I think I got shocked a couple of times on the ankles.I don't seem to remember things being THAT bad @Bham ....or maybe they were and I just forgot LOL!!, but there were some issues there towards the end of her life for sure...I loved that car. Those were great times indeed..We all didn't have a care in the world...much...Thanks for the memory..I needed that.

Their software platform is awesome since it is a dumbed down version of flexi and being able to poll the film and know exactly where you were cutting and if you have a piece big enough for whatever to fit.
-
@no ma'am looks good. Oh the memories. When we did those new often we wouldn’t even put anything over that gap. Sometimes we would cut out a piece of film to fit that gap or let it dry, tape it off and paint with flat black paint. Blends in and matched perfectly

I was with tinttek for 2 years. Great wonderful folks. Cindy could not be more helpful. However never could get them to upgrade patterns if there was a problem. GMC Yukon rear doors one or both didn’t fit at the bottom and gapped. Called then about it and Jeep j/k windshield not fitting. Couple months later same vehicles same issues. I would call in and it would always be the story that the pattern folks were in a different dept but they would send them a message. I called Andy directly and was less than impressed with his response. They may have gotten better. Wish Joe and Cindy did everything there. I do miss dealing with them but can’t afford all of the film I was wasting due to crap like that.

I'm using first cut which in itself is terrible, but I'm apart of a private database with about 6 other tinters. It's not perfect but we're working on it. Getting better with time.
Can someone buy a membership to first cut? I am always looking for better
-
Oh really. Interesting. They have been all over me like a cheap suit to upgrade and start using their ppf. I always ask them why should I pay more when I already have it with precision cut

I had to leave film designs their shit is terrible.
Who are you using now JH812?
-
I have noticed that super cars or exotic cars tend to be hit or miss or the years are not current. If film designs doesn’t have it then usually precision cut doesn’t either. The other day I did a very average car like a 2016 Hyundai Elantra GT and film design had a completely different car. You would figure that in 2-3 years someone would have called and complained. Rolls Royce Dawn had 2 years earlier and quarter windows didn’t fit. Rest of the car dead on. What software are you using?

morning y'all
@Sunbreakers yes I do the ears but do trim them off eventually. I think there comes a point where it hurts more than helps.
Absolutely it does...just curious if you started out like that...I like to keep them to use to pull and put tension, but then when I get things to a more manageable point I cut them off also.

well that's my second one this year and damn every time I say next one I'm charging more
Hey JH812, do you extend out initially on the sides with the film and make "ears" on top and bottom of that C6 rear glass to help shrink?
-
Yes, you should dry/wet shrink only towards the factory edges of the film. In other words if you roll across the window, then you can shrink top or bottom.

Also, I’ve found for some xtra length.
the white side swiper handle will attach perfectly to the Reach! Gives you another 4 in or so, and when you’re done you can take them apart. So far it’s gotten me out of a few jams with hard to reach places.
The great part is you can attach and remove easily, so when you’re done with one side, just move the handle around so you can do the other side.
If the side swiper attaches like that then the stroke doctor should attach as well I would think. Their blades are very similar if not identical.

If I recall....I couldn't even get the film on the window....much less squeegee the water out..and it did not look possible without major disassembly of front A-pillar.
-
So what is your secret for doing those front quarter windows?
-
Is that one of those you can pop the bolt cap and hinge up and it stay? Nevermind....I see you have it popped off.
-
Funny thing. I have done tons of these.....don’t think it has ever been more than just two front doors. Never taken anything else apart

"Chunks" are usually caused by a dirty bottle...the soap settles and separates from the water and sticks to the sides of the bottle...you mix up new or shake and that residue comes off the sides and gets sucked into the strainer....trying cleaning out more frequently. a little dab of clorox will do on plastic bottles...my stainless steel tanks I use a brewer cleaning solution. The residue is always a possibility even with Tint slime...the only difference is the slime tends to re-mix itself it seems. Try to use filtered water....tap water will smell like a herd of gorillas when it gets hot.

Think 2018 Honda Accord minus the "twist" and you have the game plan.

Follow your dreams, this life ain't worth living if you can't enjoy every day.
If I can give you any advice don't get stuck on one method of installing. So many times I see tinters only stick to the first way they learned. I've learned a multitude of ways to install film and I utilize them all. Every vehicle is different so it's good to have different variations.
You'll get frustrated, you'll cuss, and want to quit. That happens with learning anything new though. You'll figure out pretty soon if it's something you want to pursue, or if it's something you just once tried.
Good luck!
Best advice you can ever get.....there are lots of good tinters, but they can only do things one way and crumble when they have to take a different approach...learn to do things multiple ways and you will feel content and always have happy customers which = $$$$

I actually screwed up...it was Crystalline 50 and 70 on the windshield.
Does there 70 look blue???I could swear it looks like a blue shade to it.

That is really an awesome combination...the AIR 80 blends in wonderfully with the blue exterior color. I never have customers want to do 50 on a vehicle unless it is over factory shaded glass in the rear of an SUV.

I want to thank all of you good folks in this forum for the tips and suggestions...I had my first one of these to do today. I was ready and willing to completely disassemble the rear of the car to make this one a success. A good friend of mine sent me a 17 minute long video of the disassembly process...I watched it and then another video comes up with a guy from Detroit who mentions he is going to give it a try without disassembly. His cutting software suggests that he plot the window, place it on the car and shrink everything from the wiper and above at the top of the window, then slide it up and shrink the bottom. Place it on the inside and you are good to go...well the first attempt didn't work well for him so he tried again this time not peeling the film and shrinking the bottom on the inside of the window first...Here is the link to that video:
I tried this method and worked like a charm the first time...no waste, no disassembly, no headaches. Done in about 30 min. Some of you here mentioned the same approach or some form of it...I am grateful for your help as always.
