And before this degrades into a pzzin' match...

It really matters little to anyone outside my (or your) world what film gets purchased for resale... what matters is that film gets sold for what it's worth, including the skilled labor to install it. Some have a grasp on this number and others are shooting in the dark.

I have my preference as to what I deliver as product to the consumer and everyone else has theirs. Put it up right the first time and you get a happy consumer with the power to refer. If the film sours before its time, it's a direct afront to my (or your) reputation no matter who the source of supply is. Know and trust in the product you sell.

The great thing about capitalism is that there is always a product that can fit the selling skill of any particular business person... However, this does not necessarily hold true for purchasing skills of any business person.

If you as a tint business owner has someone open up in your vicinity and begin under cutting in price the same type of goods you sell, would this not inflame, or insight a defensive reponse in, you... especially if that business was preying on every single customer you've developed a decent reputation with?

It can happen at any level of the business world... so let's keep that in mind when reading some of the posts under brand name headings and not display a hypocritcal side... everyone has a right to express an opinion. :rollin

Guest tint rookie

uh oh, he's back....

so anyway.. all the above is true.. 90% of tinting is the labor involved. if the hack down the street wants to charge less thats fine, he can have all the p.o.s. cars owned by the nickle and dimers who are gonna find something wrong with an immaculate tint job. its in their nature. so be it.

the only thing I care to clear up, is the brand name throwing around in reference to quality. all films have a low end and a high end film. compare it to shoes. theres nike and rebok. both have the low end two for 50 buck lines at payless shoe source. both have the air jordan equivalent. regardless of who makes the shoe, if they are on the wrong feet youre gonna be hurting.

I only use suntek films. allthough my screen name may not reflect it. ive been in the bus. long enough to try more than a few films. I do both flat glass (where ive been the past month)and automotive. in an industry based on a providing the customer with a good product with good service, I expect the same from my suppliers. suntek gives me that.

relatively speaking, the price difference between high and low end rolls is not sooo drastic that I cant justify going cheap. I love the look on customers faces when I tell them,"I dont want to see you again, till you bring me another car", with a big ol sh!t eatin grin on my face.

even though the guy is a fellow suntek user, if he is soo cheap that he has to cut corners on the quality of his film, I could only imagine what other shortcuts he's taking.

of the three pigs, the one who built his house with bricks, who knows what kind of bricks? who cares, they were still bricks.

good to be back ya'll..

PA., you must be more concerned with protecting your customers from heat than worrying about the inevitable change to purple by using a conventional hybrid. They offer a color stable series that suppposed not to change color (Carbon). The heat rejection is only 7 % less. Or you could go to an even higher level of heat rejection with ATR LLumastar while maintaining color stablity. Of couse each of these films will cost your shop more, but don't ya think people are getting tired of Purple. Although I admit there have been a few throughout my career that like and even request it. :rollin
