Enpro sells distribution to Madico

When they branded the new enpro group last year we saw that one coming and wondered when they would dump distribution.

And they have been selling and installing nationwide for years. With the current state of the industry they had nowhere else to go. We don't buy from distributors selling direct in our market. Lot of good overseas products flooding the market at great prices.

I have always found Enpro to have above average customer service and technical support. I think it will be interesting to see how dealers that were screwed by the people at SunGard are taken care of by the same people that ran that company into the ground. Unfortunate situation for dealers and Enpro guys alike.

So you don't think that the overseas companies will sell direct to your customers?

No. I don't run across any of them printing custom film in my market. The local competition can't do it either.

Madico Acquires Enpro’s Distribution Assets

Madico, Inc., one of the world’s leading manufacturers of automotive, solar, safety and security window films, today announced that it has finalized an agreement to purchase select assets from The Enpro Group™ based in Houston, Texas. These assets will include, among other things, the distribution rights of Madico® branded products in various U.S. states including: Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.

“The Enpro Group has been successfully distributing Madico products for over 30 years and we have truly enjoyed this long-standing relationship. After the purchase is completed, Madico Window Films will leverage its broad resources to build upon Enpro’s legacy of outstanding customer service, while The Enpro Group will focus its energy on its FirstCut program, Retail Services, Contracting and other business segments.

We are confident that this purchase will be very positive for our window film customers, for Madico Window Films, and for The Enpro Group. We are also pleased that our relationship will remain strong since we will continue to meet Enpro’s needs for window film products,” says David Fletcher, President of Madico Window Films, Inc.

I find it funny that all these companies that merge and buy others out claim it's for the good of their customers. :err

More like the shareholders.....
