I have had excellent results in telling clients to double or "triple up" on Nichrome/Silver/Nichrome 70%.  To the best of my knowledge, the signal blocking films are multi-layered sputter metalized films.

Perhaps Dsimpson,  could explain more on this and the other comments made in his post.

Dsimpson is right on the overall package , if it is a "skiff" ( sensitive compartmentalized information facility ) ,  the walls , and ceiling must be "protected" from rf leakage, it's not just a glass situation. 

 

But even though triple layering of film might attain rf specs , what would that do with mannys warranty  ?

For EWF, the only change in warranty pertains to glass breakage / thermal seal coverage.  We will void that once you multi-layer the film.  As far as the actual film warranty,  there are no changes in the published coverage for multi-layer applications.

 

I do not know how the other suppliers deal with this.

Something I've tried to add as a caveat to any discussion of film use for RF blocking; building materials other than glass.

Best RF film outside SD is sputtered bronze 20 or 35.

 

VS 70, Hilte 70, VKool 70 are limited RF protection.

How would you test for this?

I have a job on soon where this is a concern.
