If you want a clean install on the rear window, pull the deck. 3- 13mm child latch bolts in top, uncoil the cord going to the 3rd brake light underneath. Important ! : pull up to release the plugs with a plug puller first in the deck portion closest to the folddown seats , then pull towards you as to not break off the black plastic catches. It sounds more complicated than it is and is worth the 3 minutes. Also once the deck is out , pull away the fuzzy bottom strip left at the bottom of the window , just remember to stick it back into place after tinting.

With some careful prying , the door seals also remove without pulling panels for cleaner install. Trim the rubber a bit on the 1/4s.

I think that's it lol

So it's just harder to tint the rear window without removing it?

It'll be cleaner and more professional . A 13 year old Jetta is going to have craap and hair all along the bottom +you'll tint behind the 3rd brakelight that way.
