Using a manual transmission should be part of driver training and part of a closed course test.

That and the only time driver testing should be done is during a large snowfall with poor road conditions including black ice.

Applicants should be forced to watch 400 hours of dashcam videos and be able to point out how the incident went wrong and what laws apply.

Manual transmission is becoming about as rare as cursive handwriting anymore

Do they still teach that in schools?

Sad to see so many 'core' skills being done away with...

My kids are 8th and 5th grade and they've never been shown cursive..They were always curious though, so Ive shown them

Last year I had a guy come into my shop complaining that we ruined his transmission

on his VW.

Come to find out he was forgetting to push the clutch!

Customers never cease to amaze me!

My girlfriend has no choice. She wants to drive, but all we have is manual. She drove the Landy offroad fairly well(full throttle, or no throttle it seemed), but it's heavy duty compared to the Rabbit. Roughly the same amount of torque, but the lower idle I think is what helped her. Gravel road and some Timmies should help eh?

My sister's fiancee, however, drove for a few days with his handbrake on. Brand new Jeep 4 door.
