Factory Tint TSER

Hi,

Just curious, Does anyone Know the TSER of factory tinted windows? Like say on something that has a VLT of 20% ?

Yeah if you could link the other thread that would be great. I would assume that it has to be about the same as the "clear" glass because my understanding is that the factory privacy glass is just pigmented during the manufacturing process.

Modern day "factory tinted" glass is remarkably efficient at reducing TSER. .. the factory "clear" glass is even more impressive given the high vlt. It's all to do with the govt mandates for mfrs requirements for more fuel efficient cars.

anything we do or add is gonna help. Yes the factory stuff does block some but if you can make it substantially better are you really lying?

which is why I opted to tint just the front doors and windshield of my SUV with Crystalline and not tint the rear factory "privacy" glass with film......it already has a higher TSER,despite many shop employees pushing to do the whole vehicle.......obviously only thinking about the bottom dollar to them,rather than acting as a true professional consultant looking to see that the customer makes a wise investment.
