I haven't changed anything about them, but the way they work now is a little strange. To show them all you have to hit the categories pull-down and then click emoticons to show them all. Ones you click on from there will appear at the top next time you open the emoticon box, but not if you type them in. 

 

It's a little strange that way, it's built to have all the emoticons in separate categories, but I've never sorted them that way. I think it would be a pain to have to select through a bunch of categories to see them all, so they are all in that one category. At least they are searchable now though, so I got that going for me.
