Paint to create a black border

Does anyone know what kind of paint is used to create a black border. Looks like some sort of paint marker. It’s very brittle and breaks up into pieces when trying to clean the bg

Could be anything. Scrape it off and go.

Could just be the factory ceramic border. Use a white scrubby pad and lay the film over it. But let the customer know there may be some issues with the film laying over top of it. I wouldn’t advise trying to scrape it off.

Or it may even be striping tape. Looks more like that since the line isn’t straight across. I still say white scrubby and lay the film over it with an explanation to the customer.

I'm betting that it's either striping tape, film opaquer, black paint or windshield primer. Looks too uneven to be the factory ceramic.

So It was paint that was used to create the black border. Is there a special paint marker used for this?

Most companies sell an Opaquer pen. But that’s just for filling in really small gaps or unfilmed edges. I’ve never seen one used like this, and doubt it could be.

It shouldn't be, I'm sure someone out there has probably done it.

If you have just a small gap Black Puffy Paint works well for that type of window so does black pinstripe tape. If you're trying to create a black border similar to factory ceramic fritt than windshield primer is the only thing that's going to come close and it's going to be a process to get it looking acceptable.

The only 944 I've ever worked on had a similar situation where the border flaked off if you looked at it wrong  and I work for a company where tint was an after thought so.... didn't go well. 3 pieces and I'm terrible at seeming  before my time

Keep seeing Porsche mentioned. Is this a pickup and a diamond plate tool box?

a number of factors here. There are grit paints done at factory and flake after time.....

we need more info.
