I guess it really depends on how you are looking at what could be a "R.O.I" (i.e. Are you actually looking to get money (cash) back at the end, or is actually about personal satisfaction) People talk about cars being the second most expensive investment other than a house. While this may be true, if you are looking for return on your investment then you should be looking at whether you're going to get at least HALF your value back when you sell or trade. In other words, did you buy a Tacoma? The number one resale value vehicle on the market. So people spend money on their vehicles to make themselves feel better about that vehicle. Not like putting an addition on the house and actually getting that money back when you sell it because it is actually more valuable now. It doesn't work that way in the automotive world. Tint, PPF, lift kits, wheels so on and such,, all of this is not to get money back at the end when you sell it. An individual rarely makes money adding to a vehicle and then selling it.

I'm pretty sure the last time I spend a few thousand on a supercharger for a Mustang, that it wasn't for any type of return on my investment. Except for the better trap times. Nobody puts upgrades on their car for ROI. Just my unnecessary two cents.

Show your filmhandler setup

You can build this or that to try and make a stand or whatever, but honestly the best set-up, in my opinion is still the 6' ladder turned backwards. It is not so tall you can't load it and easy to take down and move if needed. Already built and pretty cheap to get. Doesn't have to be a super awesome ladder, just a cheap, lightweight aluminum one will be just fine. -
I've seen the glass boards that are designed that way. The glass apparently has a coating on it and you can do the same thing with it. These new glass boards are rather expensive because they are frosted and have a metal backing so you can use magnets also. They are neat, but this will be much more cost efficient.
-
That is cool. We do a lot of white frost on the backside of glass at Alabama Power's main building. They do that for whiteboard reasons a lot and this would make things a lot easier for some of our installs. Gonna have to do some research on this film and see if we can't start using it also. Thank you.

@TomTint is that installed on a painted wall or is that on glass?? It’s hard to tell from the pic. Thanks.

Yes sir, the laminate essentially keeps the glass from resonating or vibrating. Also being a plastic material the extra layer will scatter sound waves (a bit). BUT, Not very effective for direct sound waves such as radios or sirens but slightly more effective than plain glass. It keeps down road noise but a lot of that noise is due to vibration and wind travel not direct sound waves. I just don't see it being very effective for dogs barking without A LOT of it being used. Hence,, more mass.
-
Window Tint will fix the heat problems, but not the sound. Sound had to be blocked or absorbed by "mass". Soundproof glass works because of the thickness of it. Same with soundproof foam. It absorbs sound when it travels through the foam. Window tint does not have the mass necessary to be functional as a sound deadening device.

@no ma'am Cool. Glad you like it. I hope you like the squeegee. Maybe - Maybe not? It’s kind of an inbetweener.

Blue Label Olfa Blades are back!!

The 30° blades really came in handy doing that '73 Land Cruiser. The super sharp point makes it easy to get tight against the hard rubber seals. -

Morning ever E body. Working on a couple I can't take pictures of.

You can keep all that stuff. It's a nasty day here with lots of wind.

@Tint Eastwood Got snow ?

Yeah, it's all pretty much flat glass work. The one drivers door is the only slight issue. It's no worse than doing a travel trailer.
