3m is the only I’d recommend out of those and as stated it’s a highly reflective film. The Johnson insulatIR you mentioned in the last comment is like the suntek decent at best. Installed it for 2 years as my ceramic line... dropped it though because 1 out of every 3 back glasses had to be warrantied after discontinuing the line in our shop. It doesn’t ghost at all when shrinking and installing but 2-3 years later it suddenly shows up. And not from lack of skill on shrinking either. Also $350 is too cheap for any area for that film including the windshield especially on the new type r civic. IMO should be closer to the $450-$550 range. Best of luck

Great color. And no haze as stated. Can’t go wrong with global

Sounds like you dodged a bullet
You’re right. I could see if coming from the beginning. But it got closer and closer. I’ll walk away from the money before I spend days on end dealing with a spoiled customer

Well buddy you can't win them all. When some people get something stuck in their head and you tell them they can't have it they'll go to the one that says they can, even if it means consequences. Her lost not yours. If you ever get the call back that their windows broke I would respond I'm sorry to hear that I hope that other shop takes care of you.
That was almost word for word what I told my guy that works for me. He was bummed cuz he loves flat glass work because we’re in the ac. Another thing that scared me was the lady telling me how she constantly changed her mind while remodeling. I was like NOPE!

Thanks guys for the input. I let the customer walk. Told her I couldn’t offer a film that would suit her every need. If she was willing to give up one need or another I may could help. Even tried offering a neutral film. Found out the other shop was quoting $4k and using automotive “carbon” film!!!! Told her no I wouldn’t do it. Wouldn’t risk failure. She politely thanked me and went with the other shop

I thought about that too. Do u think it would have too much absorption?

Since I went to global a few months back I honestly sell more QDP Ceramic 18 than anything in my shop

And I called myself checking express and didn’t see anything. But I see the be neutral now
-
What is that just an exterior screen?

Customer was quoted $4k for this house from another shop. A house I’d normally charge about $2800 for with dual reflective global. And their exact words were come in under 4 and job is yours. I hate to give up on em. But the key won’t listen(and I’m normally very persuasive and if need be gruff and blunt about facts)

Does Express have anything since it would be an easy order?
That was my first thought. Just bite the bullet. Pay higher price get in get out. But closest they have is a ceramic dual reflective. I’m at a loss here guys

Daylight natural from Johnson may be an option, 35 is as dark as you can go with it if I'm not mistaken
Yeah but the daylight series is made with a sputtered adhesive and it’s like a neutral silver. At least it used to be

Down side I’m not a dealer for suntek. 3m. Llumar. Lines like this. Global doesn’t offer anything. Madison doesn’t have anything. SolarFX is a no go. And I thought Johnson used to but can’t find anything when looking

Yeah well I want a million bucks and a cute blonde....
If it's not reflective, it's gonna break the glass. And won't do much for heat.
Suntek has a %10 non-reflective film but I'm sure it's not safe for that window. I've used it on internal windows or tempered glass....Roach I was hoping you’d see this. I thought you only did flat glass! I told them that the absolute darkest I’d go would be around a 30-35. Back in the day rule of thumb was 20% or lighter. But glass is so cheap now a days! Idk what to do

99% of my customers get dual reflective residential film. I have a customer hell bent on a black or charcoal film. Very large dual pane insulated windows and wants next to 0 reflectivity. What are the flat glass guys using to achieve this result. She wants black. Heat rejection. And privacy. And doesn’t understand that with a non reflective film someone can see in after dark if inside lights are on. Input appreciated!

What is ceramic global called does it come in 15 percent ???
QDP Ceramic 18

No not really. If your gentle and quick u can pull some to the sides. But film is designed to best shrink to factory edges
-
Skip all that headache all together. Save some Flexfilm for when previous jobs come back for warranty replacement. And go global or SolarFX if you want. Can’t beat global performance on all lines for the money!

Go global or SolarFX

I use fusion all type now. SolarFX sets us quick. Global sets up quick. But I can stress enough. Xpel sets up before you can even get it into place. Especially on a large piece like a windshield or back glass. Did a charger yesterday with one of the samples. No steel wool on defrosters. No rapid tac. No alcohol barely scrubbed it. Squeegeed it off. Shrunk as usual. Laid film on. No peanuts-Nothing. And it formed around those huge defrosters like a 1 ply film and STUCK
Which of these is the fairest quote for ceramic considering brands?

One other thing. Don’t be swayed by computer cut.... a lot of the software is rough especially on top edges. An experienced tinter can hand cut better than any plotter by adapting to each individual vehicle
