  1. I've done well in excess of a thousand of these trucks and the only time I've had an issue is if the panel had some type of detailing dressing on it that the application solution stripped off in which case I keep some Maguire's Quik Interior Detailer Cleaner on hand, a little of that on a microfiber will even things out and take care of it. The other thing I've seen is on used vehicles that have been "reconditioned" and been retouched with a cheap spray on vinyl dye, that shit comes off exactly like you described.

As far as covering the panels goes I didn't for the first couple years I tinted and it wasn't an issue except in the cases previously mentioned. Now days I cover them 95-98% of the time and I use bath towels, they're cheap and reusable and cover the entire panel.

  2. To me it just looks like the weather strip is dislodged from it's channel. Hard to say 100% without it in front of me but you should be able to roll the window down and get it fit back in place. You could've done it with outward pressure while rolling the window up but more likely it was like that to begin with. Honda's are particularly bad about that in my experience but speaking as someone who works for a new dealer I see fucked up stuff like that all the time on new ones. Generally it goes unnoticed by the public at large, until you work on the adjacent area and they have a reason to pay closer attention. Everyone assumes that the new car they're buying off the lot is flawless when in reality I can find at least one  flaw on every new car on the lot, it may be nitpicky in some cases but they're there. At the end of the day I'd say just take care of it, make your customer happy and move on, it's not worth taking a negative review over.

  3. I've done them, it's hit or miss on the rockers. The rougher the texture the worse it sticks, even with heat/steam, and the texture is often inconsistent. Short of buying a pre-cut kit I don't think you have much as far as options go for single use access to a pattern or software. The Sierra hood isn't that bad, I usually just bulk them, either way make sure to clean around the edges of the scoop really well it likes to hold dirt.

  4. Just a heads up for those who use plotters to cut their film the 2020 Sierra and Silverado HDs (2500, 3500) use different glass than the 1500 models. It's about an inch taller, see attached pic. Otherwise they're just like the half tons for panel removal and installation see this thread here:
