Gap or no gap?

Guest Shady

Do you completely film the side drop glass windows and file the top edge off or do you leave a small gap along the top edge?

Do you file as needed or always? :gaspcuz the back was set.

I only file when the windows are different from the driver and passenger side

...'cause I double cut, and double shrink all my roll-ups and quarters.

cuz the back was set :gasp

it don't set 'till I set it...I make the slip work that magic

then carefully squeegee side-to side...wax on, wax off

and set it with heat and a hard card wrapped in a shop towel

my gap is soo minute I really dont have to file, anymore. I do still hit the edge with a file for gits and shiggles to make sure theres no odd spot in the glass that will bunch up later. extra 30 seconds per pane.

I charge more to begin with, may as well give them all the best

I need to know what the hell rookie?

with respects to everyone on here, not filing is unprofessional, maybe because im used to it, I file everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! there is nothing worse then to show ur customer a roll up witha light gap on the edge of the window. I know there are those cars that are impossible to file, I'lll be realistic. and what rookie just mentioned..................

im so damn good at it , upon positioning the film, I get it so close to the edge that when I try to file it its already enough, no need.

Leaving a tiny gap is the industry standard and is in no way "unprofessional". We all do things a bit differently, please be respectful of the other memebers when asserting an opinion, thanks. :bling

par is good enough for some professionals..... the standards of my work are just higher I guess.

compare the filed edge to the "daddy stitch" most could do without, but what would you want for yourself?

I treat my customers they way I would want to be treated. keep it toight as possible.
