New guy here wrapping a Yukon Denali Satin Black and I have a question

Recommended Posts

Ok so I finished the rear bumper cover in my basement and I almost had a nervous break down lol. In the picture it is just set in place to make sure once all the plastics are down you cant see any body color anywhere.

The bumper cover is awkward and wouldn't stop moving around while I was working the vinyl down. The humps and curves for the license plate lights were unbelievably hard to do and I had to do the bumper in 2 pieces split down behind the license plate.

All body kit pieces are edge sealed and ready to apply to the car, would you guys recommend anything besides the 3M body tape that I have? I hope I wont have any adhesion problems down the road... Anything stronger out there?

I cant believe how dirty the Denali is getting just sitting in the garage, I am going to have my hands full with a full detail and many details after that lol.

Thanks a lot you should definitely give it a try!

So officially I am done with the Denali on Sunday, I have the front bumper to do and then its just small touch-ups here and there.

I had some serious clear coat peeling from shitty work on the passenger side so that took a long time to clean it all up before wrapping. I am worried about future issues with the passenger quarter so I did it in 2 pieces cut at the body line so I can replace just the lower quarter if it fails due to some minor rust and major clear failure.

So I finally got the Denali done!

I truly don't even want to drive it now so it doesn't get damaged lol but I already put 50 miles on it today since I missed driving it so much.

It can always be repaired if something happens!

I had so many neighbors come over to say how good of a job I did and considering its my first time ever it made me proud to hear some think it was paint.

Question for you guys... How can I wipe the dust off without too much worry of scratching the satin vinyl? I cleaned the whole truck with 50/50 distilled water and iso alcohol and it made the dirty vinyl look amazing but it didnt take long for dirt/dust to build up.

Ok so here it is and how far it came:

We took a 450 mile trip from Colorado to Nebraska and I have to say... the Avery vinyl held up much better than I thought. Hell it was harder to clean paint when it was bombarded with sand and bugs.

All I did to clean it was use the spot free rinse only at the car wash, I used a microfiber cloth rinsed off excessively just for the bug guts and windows and used a big microfiber towel to dry it!

Very happy because I didn't know what to expect, I at least thought the vinyl would be stained from the 2 day old dried up bug guts and %&$#.
