Designs on Frosted Film

I was asked about cutting patterns on to frosted film. (flowers or reeds)

Is this a good idea. Would I be weeding for days?

How would I get a design like this one to the glass (what's the process)

This pretty close to what they are looking for. They want privacy so I'm thinking the inverse of this would be more appropriate for them with the reeds being clear and the majority of the glass being frosted.

Where can I find design files?

If they are wanting privacy and not concerned with the glass looking the same from both sides, you could always put a different colored matte film on one side of the glass and the designed film on the other.

Ah the dreaded " where can I get the files"

 

Ask the client to supply .ai or .eps files you can use on your plotter.

If they cannot provide them you will need to design the pattern or have it done for you.= additional charges!!

Printing on clear requires good print files and allows you to add colour to your clients glass.

Giggle Images should help you out on ideas.

 

Dont be afraid to print on Dusted Crystal. To my eye it looks even nicer than print on clear and gives better privacy options.
