Why does people laugh at window tinting?

I've taken interest in tinting also, and when ever I tell people how much you can lottentially make the kinda just roll there eyes like I'm crazy.. but when I can tint one car a day and make more doing that then I get paid for a 10 hour day can't really complain.. it's definetely a good thing to know how to do for side work.

Like I had told my girl that I wanted to get into and she said babe that's something you do on the side. I thinking about putting her on the side so she knows what a real side job is. I'm jk, but it seems like she isn't the only one that thinks like that. I honestly feel like if I can manage to do 3 cars a day for 5 days a week it beats clocking in on someone else's clock. I hate asking people can I spend time with my family. Have anyone else get this a lot or is it every blue moon?

lol I can think of a bunch of reasons....lots of reasons....why tinting is a real job that pays well.......a job where every tinter is trying to be the best, fastest and cleanest installs (because it PAYS!!!)

 

the easy way to explain it is sooo many people try and fail at it....this is why people are willing to pay the most for the best install.....(not counting the cheapskates)

 

some people only learn by showing them.....my advice is to show her the hundreds $$$$$$$$$$ that you get in only a few hours time.......I can think of a hundred ways to rub it in to people who laugh at you now.......the most important part is keep practicing now.......

 

when shes at work (having to be clocked in for 8 hours per day)  you go tint a car and say well I made 3 days pay and the only I problem I have now is what to do with the rest of my DAY!!!!!!! (say that while shes still clocked in)........

      South facing windows DR film

      Install went great. I went with NV-25, I am very happy. The room has been darkened significantly, from bright and hot to much more pleasant and enjoyable. Watching TV during the day is no longer blinding, when it is cloudy it is definitely a bit gloomy, I am glad I did not go with NV-15. I plan on getting more windows done in the future to help cut down on heat energy. Thanks for everyone's input!

      Stratos 70 on windshield, what is this?

      Captain Obvious has two cents err senses to share: 1) The film should be removed and replaced, because it appears to have adhesive blemishes that shouldn't be there, and 2) The film should be reviewed/inspected once taken from the roll to avoid losing time and resources due to manufacturing issues. Little pieces not so much, but back glass and windscreen pieces ... definitely.

      I switched so long ago... first to KDS but they went away. NT are great though. I use a piece of white strapping material as a cutting buffer between the blade and glass. Some use a button but I didn't like the feel..

      Headlight Taillight Vinyl question... (Looking for CHROME)

      Stratos 70 on windshield, what is this?

      I can't win with getting tint decent on the windshield. I had 3M on my F150 done twice and still has major defects. Recently did Stratos twice on my F350 and I see this granular spotted, texture pattern on the tint. It's super obvious in the corner here but also right in my view when driving. It's honestly hard to point out and show someone but when your driving and stuff is moving behind the windshield, it becomes more obvious. The lighting also matters. The first time I did the windshield, I had a two foot line on the windshield. Thinking it was tint, they removed the tint and it was apparently a defect in the Ford windshield. An issue between the laminated glass layers caused this big defect. So they removed the tint, I had Ford replace the windshield on a 2024 F350 but when the tint shop removed the tint, they made a bunch of micro scratches in the front windshield, probably from scrapping the glue off. I told them but I didn't care since Ford was replacing the windshield anyways. So if basically I'm trying to figure out what this texture stuff is and if I should have them replace or remove it. Replacing it might just have different issues but also afraid they will scratch the windshield.
