Graham
Hi there, What are your thoughts on this scratch? Tinting technician believes it's too thick to be his tinting knife blade and was there to begin with. Tinting knife blade vs other - What do you think? Link to comment
hoosierwindowtek
It's hard to take pictures of scratches, but more details are needed. Where is the scratch, and what's the age of the car? A lot of scratches that look like that are caused by ice scrapers in winter, for example. Is that on the inside or outside? Link to comment
Whyme
Also is it a fat scratch or a fine razor blade scratch? Also tinters cut the outline Around the outside of the window , so if the scratch was in the middle of the glass the tinter would have absolutely no reason to use a razor on the middle of the glass . Only around the edges of the glass . So I would say if it’s in the middle of the back window it’s not the tinter , but if it’s a side window it’s a different story . Link to comment
Graham
Thanks for the replies! Car is about a year old, but has had some damage to it ie side panel swipe. The scratch is fairly obvious, it's on the front driver window, but as you can see it is not really along the frame of the window, sort of in the middle but to the top half of the window. Seems like a strange spot. THanks Link to comment
pbalentine
As the tech mentioned does look rather thick to be an olfa. Link to comment
hewitt_jay
You never notice a scratch on glass till you put a black background on it... Eurotone, jconnors and MastersTint1414 3 Link to comment
Stint
Looks too thick/deep. It is very hard to scratch the glass with Olfa blades, would expect a hairline scratch at most if anything. Very true, scratches tend to be more obvious behind a tint. Link to comment
