TNTLady reacted to DougW in Application for nighttime privacy
I am searching for a way to explain this to otherwise seemingly intelligent humans without raising my voice and screaming at them. I just got off the phone with a Window Contractor who can not understand this concept to save his life. I have known him for 30 years and have explained this 100+ times as well as to his customers. I had another customer for whom I tinted 2 panes, 45x755, with a DR 35. The glass has a light gray smoke color to begin with. His complaint was that you can still see in at night and the glass was reflective on the inside. The glass with no film was mirror like at night. It could be due to all his walls being white or mirrors. It could be because he had more halogen lights in a small room than Lowes. I've spent more time on the phone and even made a nighttime house call to try to explain this mysterious phenomenon of physics that he never notice in his 68 years of existence. I left saying, you can't understand the professionally written data sheets, you can't understand anything I say, you can't understand what you are seeing with your own eyes, then I can't help you. He was a chronic interrupter so I literally had to tell him to shut up and listen.
If anyone has found a way to explain this better, I'd love to hear it.

I remember. I even removed some of that when someone put it on their van windows. What a mess.

TNTLady reacted to pbalentine in 2021 Jeep Cherekee L…anyone done one yet?
Thought about the waiver some, but the access for windshields sucks now. The center consoles are getting bigger and most have stuff by the mirror. If you’re doing them now you better have 1-2 soak ropes, and have that module covered. I did 22 Lexus RX460 yesterday and glanced at the shield and said no way.

We tinted one a couple weeks ago but did not do windshield. Was pretty straightforward for the rest of it just the addition of quarters on back doors.

Has anyone done the new Jeep Cherekee L yet and has anyone put Ceramic on the windshield yet. Any problems with these autos that you know of?

I've been making all of the windshield customers sign a damage waiver lately. Most still want it done.

Nope sorry. A little to worried about it. so, Haven't messed with one yet to see if it goes bonkers when you tint the whole windshield or not.
Also passing on all the new Ram windshields because of the Push-to-start issues.

TNTLady reacted to Caligula in Aaahhh…no more windshields
I’m not a fan of doing them either, I just overprice them to the point that most people don’t want to do them, and if they do it ends up being worth it for me.

No way around it…they suck. So relieved to not do them anymore. I’ll just let my comp do these, and I’ll just schedule more full vehicles. Plus, 90% of people want them on Trucks and Teslas…no thanks!

TNTLady got a reaction from clear solutions in New Toyota Venza
Sure would be nice if Toyota would put a do not tint or use razor blades on those dang windows!! Just learned the hard way as I got the first one of those in the shop today. SHEESH!!
I’ve been tinting for 38 plus years and never seen crap like this.
