The blu max channel blade will fit in the unger channel. I use an 8" for FG. If your channel is old, it may have a slight bend making it hard to get it in.  It easier to slide it all in at once, instead of sliding it in at one end.

Just think though, what slip will bond the best with the rear glass? The best tack would be with straight water, but of course you cant do that. After install, Id rather have the most mild slip floating under the film for days than something that designed to clean dishes and floors.

As for joy non-ultra. Had that stuff leave soap residue bubbles under a FG job weeks later that I did years ago, which all had to be replaced.  That was it for dish soap for me.

Howard at EWF posted years ago of a lab study that proved it degraded adhesive.  After that I never considered it.  I just dont get why some use it?  Maybe because it provides extra slip?? Baby shampoo gives me enough slip in 115*(1.5 shot glasses).

It's much sturdier,  will get the job done!  I have two titan tools that gather dust since I got the Reach. Nice rubber end cap to "reach" the pesky stray bubbles down there where you have to get er done.  Long enough, curved side to side for leverage.  I have heard people say they don't like um but I'm thinking they don't know how to use it  When I downsized shops a few months ago I bought every rear window tool made and I sleep good knowing I have them but ....
Can you tell I love um ♡♡

That chevy gap is bad...side too. Lil tip for these guys...heat that top edge before you roll it up!! Guess they dont get paid much, so cant expect much.  Poor guys probably live in cages at the dealership, fed from a vending machine. Only let out to put work out fast, then back to lockup.

The blade is like $2 for an 8" and much cheaper if you buy a big roll.  Beats the blu max unger blade that $7. I toss the blade monthly for a new sharp one to clean with.

Mine fits now that the handle broke off. Squeegeeing rollups is fast with it.  Another thing i like about is that it really reduces the chance of creases where the film is not laying completely flat. Works best when the panel is removed.  Once window is rolled up i do about 3 swipes from the middle out, to the left and right....done!!

Never tried the swiper, but love the stroke dr.  Actually broke the handle off squeegeeing a bg a couple weeks ago.  Ive been using it to install rollups, i never use blu max on rollups now.  Might just keep the broken one for rollups.

I agree here. Goes the same way when going overr what vlt to use with a custy. I keep it quick and simple. The customer always seems confident in what they chose. One of my guy's goes way to complicated with it. Takes a ton of time with the customer, going over every possible combination of vlt known to man.I find with him the customer always leaves questioning if they made the correct choice.

I ordered some from Interwest Tools also. And while I think it does a great job protecting the film from scratching it sometimes prevents me from quick and easy finessing. I don't use it much anymore, I just throw out my tools more often.

It's not difficult to imagine that auto glass will have self darkening capability. And also have the capability to be electronically controlled or limited in VLT via a simple computer. Example .. A car is sold in NY and before delivery the dealer sets the computer to maintain clear front windows. Of course this could be disabled by a owner who has access to the scan tools. That said, I see a bigger set of hurdles coming down the pipe in the flat glass markets. With film costs on the rise and some film costs in the 4-7.00 PSF alone.. It does not bode well for building or property owners looking for ROI.

Rick it looks good man. If I were you I would reword about the entry level film though. Maybe just talk about the price being less or something then saying it comes with 1 year warranty or whatever. I know main goal is to upsell the customer but I'm just not about bad mouthing one to get them to do that.

yea the peanuts the in house tinters get for the tint job doesn't motivate them to do nice installs. I love doing these cars for customers because they become your forever loyal client after.
