  1. That is adhesive from the first installation that was stuck to the defroster and went unnoticed during removal of the old film. When the new piece of film was put on and positioned, some of the left over adhesive stuck to the new film and created lifted areas.
  2. I understand. We do have a consumer questions area and they are welcome, but I'm not sure about them giving advice.
  3. I'm sorry but this is a forum for those in the industry, you came here originally for advice regarding a tint job for your car, then called us lazy, was asked to leave, now you're giving advice about running a shop? I'm confused why you are here.
  4. That's likely from the window rolling up and down and getting fine vertical scratches from debris in the felt flaps at bottom of the frame. Not your tinter's fault and there is nothing we do that would cause those kinds of scratches on the outside. Usually these types of fine scratches aren't noticed until there is tint on it to give it contrast, so it's not unusual for people to blame the tinter for defects that were already there, but not noticeable until tinted. There are some kinds of scratches tinters can cause, during trimming and interior prep, but those are neither.
  5. To me that decision would be an easy one. On one side of your scale is safety (your dad seeing at night) and on the other side of your scale is appearance (vanity). Also I don't think it would be that noticeable from outside, only at certain angles. I wouldn't sweat it.
  6. Hey, I hope you are able to get your car tinted to your liking. I am going to ask you to move on now though. Not sure why you would want to be posting around people you disdain anyway. Thanks.
  7. Blue max for final and white teflons cut at an angle and wrapped in a shop towel for tooling and edges.
  8. Yes, from the outside it will seem a little darker as there's less light coming in in either scenario.
  9. Yep, 8 hours of training and you are a certified master.
  10. Yes, some cars have super tight frames that tend to pinch the film in the corner and make it buckle over time, your tinter probably did this to keep that from happening. Don't sweat it.
  11. Hey @BIG E, long time no see. Sorry it's under these circumstances, and I hope you all are able to get back on your feet soon!
  12. I'm not a PPF guy, but that looks like crap to me.
  13. It's not against the rules, we have sections that people can list their businesses and so on. As long as it's industry related and not spamming, it's not a problem.
  14. Wow, the razor blade was a real nice touch. I'd be pissed too.
  15. No problem, sounds like your tinters are noobs too.
  16. Did you get a warranty and or receipt? You can always call and ask what you got.
  17. This page talks about drying time etc. https://www.tintdude.net/care.html I've never heard the term "medical-grade tint". Maybe someone else here has.
  18. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but you're putting the cart before the horse. You may want to have a LOT more experience before jumping into this business.
  19. Looks like the rough trim before heat shrinking. I don't see how it would be trouble to deal with, but you could always just lift the film and cut the rest off instead of tearing.
