This is really helpful @no ma'am, thanks!
In all of the research I'd done, I'd not heard of 'tucking seals' before. Simply sliding under was always suggested. Sliding under worked for my wife's car, but the seals on the M2 are tight, and the film kept grabbing, especially at the front corner. I'll give this a go next try.
Ironic that you actually did install Stratos on that M2... The very film I wanted to install, but can't get!
I wouldn't buy stratos to learn on either lol $$$$$$$$
If you wanted that specific product I'm sure there is a local formulaone tint shop in your area that can supply and install it nicely without damaging your vehicle.

The #000 steel wool worries me
I only use #0000

Are we talking about touchless carwash? Or the ones that spin on your car
-
Weird I don't see anything, it might not even be the film either, u can easily have adhesive issues using a alcohol mixture that is too aggressive. Or if the installed doesn't prep the vehicle very well.
-
Yes it should be glued but u should finish the wall first, mounting it to the 2x4 seems sketchy, I used both glue and glass mounting brackets on mine.

PCS was pretty bad before but the kits and patterns have significantly improved. All ppf patterns now get testfitted and are not purchased third party anymore.
as for window tint i have been moving back and fourth between fvd and pcs. I'm starting to really like the pcs patterns more.

and Llumar is manufactured by Eastman who also happens to make Gila. Not really sure what their point is.
If i was a billion dollar company i would have shit film to sell to the cheap customers
There is always the know it all diy customer that you can still make money from.
No point of heating a half the pie when u can have the whole pie.

Awesome! I’m on my second roll, about half way through. I understand it’s a learning curve but I want to learn and get this one under my belt. It being mine and winter time I have the time I need to learn. Thank you again for the reply and the video!
how did u make out with the back glass?
-
This vehicle is a tough vehicle, everyone has there own methods on heating the back window, i always split it down the middle and then wet the sides like. all you can do is heat slow and take you time.
To be honest you're gonna probably waste an entire roll (maybe two)till u can actually do one half decent, especially if you had to do the sides multiple times. Many tinters need years of experiences and hundreds of vehicles under the belt just to master this vehicle.
Watch the video on this thread and try to copy what the man does

Quality of the shop is the highest priority, but as for films...Llumar, SolarFX, Global, 3M (CS & Up), Madico, Huper Optik, and Formula One are all better options than Suntek.
no solarguard?!?! lol

looks good indeed

Oracal 8300 is definitely the go-to and is much easier to install, but honestly just doesn't look the best. We did a Cadillac DTS yesterday and was meh.
yea i feel the same way, needs a layer of ppf on it to give it some POP

jdm cars sometimes have privacy glass on rear windows as well

That is quite difficult to say, you do live in a hot area, i would say drive around for a bit, do your real world test and see how you feel after a month. if you're ok with what you have then you could keep it, if you're not satisfied then i would say bring it to another llumar shop that has a BTU meter. Ask them to do the drivers window with CTX with the exact darkness match. Use the meter to test drivers and passengers side. See what the difference in performance is. If its the exact same then u most likely have CTX and you only paid to have one window redone. if the passenger side underperforms compared to the drivers then u could change it all.
I don't know what else to tell you. That's the only idea i could think of.

best to ask the installer himself, if its a standard basic film then its most likely llumar ATC
-
Yea the quick draw tool pounce for flat glass is the best!

I have had issues like this, I enjoy quoting high prices and letting there car get botched without warning, then they will come crawling back feeling like crap lol

You're in a tough boat. I feel bad for you.
Not sure what you could do

PPF Wrapped is Not?

We are a llumar dealer and we wrap every edge under the hood. Just have to prep the vehicle properly, u can even prime the underside with adhesive promoter and it will stick perfectly. I think it's just the shop. Sorry for the bad experience.
