blackoutauto reacted to TintDude in How many guys are active here?
On the weekends we get about 100 members visit per day, weekdays between 120-150, maybe 15-25 on at any one time. about 10% of those will have something to say that day.

blackoutauto got a reaction from TintDude in 2018 CLA 250 Sedan
The push start buttons gets wrekt from water being spraying in the back window. so try to spray less water.
The side windows if its the same as the 2016 and 2017 models then you will have to take apart the door panels to apply felt on all 4 doors. This one is a bitch to apply felt on since the seals take a long time to remove and reinstall properly.
aside from that its easy to tint. It just comes with alot of issues and time consuming to do properly.

family and friends should be understanding of your job. The asshat customer you speak of I don't allow employees to offer the same service in my garage which I operate my business. It's a conflict of interest.

That's like bringing your own cold cuts and bread to the deli for a sandwich.

blackoutauto got a reaction from CustomGlassTinter in Volvo Defroster
I've seen this happen, bad quality defrost lines damaged just from cleaning it. When u take it off he will lose more lines. While u install a new piece of tint more will fall off into the tint.
Tell the customer to get new glass lol

Unfortunately for you stripping window film requires time and patience. I also do not recommend you doing it yourself. (every customer wants to try to save cost)
I don't know how dynamic is but I know that when customers strip tint themselves it just means more trouble, hidden glue and issues. You probably will have a removal fee and the tint cost. It kinda sucks having to have the additional cost but at least it will be done right.

You will be surprised. many customers will let something like that pass or never notice. Some shops will aim for everything to be just "good enough"
There are few shops that will aim for perfection.

blackoutauto got a reaction from TQtinting in how much should I charge for a tint job on a regular 4 door sedan?
What I did was raise my prices and told everyone I specialize in high end cars. I've never looked back ever since. If you lowered your prices to much maybe they just think they are buying purple tint. Some people are sceptical when buying window tint. They sometimes worry the cheap guy either has cheap film or is a complete hack. If you lower your prices thinking your gonna beat the guy down the road charging more then you, then you have it all wrong. He's laughing cuz you're gonna be tinting a dusty dodge neon and he is doing the 2017 jeep srt.

blackoutauto got a reaction from no ma'am in Llumar CTX vs ATR vs Pinnacle
quality between pinnacle and CTX is quite close to the same. Its the warranty that is better and maybe a slight bit better performance. In my opinion the hue is doesn't bother anyone. The hue is a preference.
I also don't recommend getting the tint with no warranty or receipt. Not worth the risk

Yea! the button or a piece of plastic from your core ends of your tint boxes will work perfect

You don't have to have a plotter to not cut on glass, you've just gotta improvise. Use a Sharpie, button, or plastic banding strap. If you don't have a glass wall to cut on get a white board or plexi glass. The blades now are made to cheap and glass is to soft to cut on.
