I have always been interested in it. I know there are courses for it...any info appreciated. It's similar to tinting in that you need lots of patience and no one wants to be watched when they do it!

I'm taking this email to explain a few things to you. I first joined your board to get advice from other tinters that also use the board. I gained a lot of perspectives from reading all the different posts within the board and I've learned a lot from just reading and listening from the posts. The other night you had told me to get off your board and I had thought you were just messing around. I had thought this because I had read no where in the board that people were upset with my posts. I honestly if known would have stopped posting as much and waiting till I had questions. Where I work they block our accounts from using instant messaging so I used the board as a …

our living room has a door that goes out into the back yard, I am thinking about putting tile right there in front of the door, probably a 3 x 3 foot area.....my question is how do you make the transition from tile to carpet? I have seen it in other peoples houses where the carpet goes right up to the tile, what keeps it there and from coming up?

Every roll of film in the last two to three months has been horibbly orange peeled. I had a friend that was a SG rep that said when they sent out a roll like that if it got sent back to them they would send it to the next shop until it stopped coming back. My partner asked our rep today if we were getting back shelf film and of course he said no he would never do that. I am 95% sure that we are getting crap film that has been sent back to them. We haven't had any complaints from customers. The guys I worked for in CA used to buy that film from their rep at a discounted rate. But I think we are being sold that shiot at a normal price. They are just trying to pass …

Welp, I'm a newb (make fun if you want) to tinting and I'm wondering a few things. But before you begin making fun of me, please understand I tinted my own windows because I think its fun, not just to get tint onto my windows. Also, I have a 1989 Pontiac Grand Prix SE Ok, now on to the good stuff :8 1) How do you keep the tint from touching the edges of stuff on the rolldowns? -After I cut the tint to the rough shape, I attempted to place it onto the inside of the window which is nearly impossible it seems like without it either creasing or the film touching all kinds of different things and getting dirty. -FWI: I tuck the rubber seals down into the window if…

Hello there.. Well like I have mentioned before I am brand new to the tinting industry. Our shop just opened 2 months ago and so we are just trying to get the name out there. We have been leaving flyers at all the businesses around this area, putting adds in coupon books and what seems to bring in people are the banners we have outside in between the trees along the road...If you got place, put up some banners.. their cheap and people notice something new flying around by the street. We too are constantly looking for new ideas to advertise cheap still since we can't afford radio yet or anything like that. Some of your ideas are really good.. thanks.. keep up the hard…

Makeshift Tools 1 2

Do any of you use any makeshift tools? For instance, instead of using a hard card or something, you use a credit card, etc? I'm actually kind of wondering just because I dont feel like going shopping in a different city just to get some tools :P I wonder if there's anything here at home I could use to take the place of some of the tinting tools. Also, how about makeshift garages? Anyone ever tried tarp hung up around a car-port? I wish I wasnt so young that I cant provide these basic necessities to myself Ohwell ...Joe / d03boy

well it appears that what started out as being only hazing, snowballed into this big to do on the board. And as usual, I'll take the blame. PIE, FBJ, your right, I'm a d$ck, an azzhole, a prick and every thing else you called me. Just trying to have a little fun. From now on it'll be at my own expense instead of others. to the mebers and guests, sorry you had to read the thread. As a moderator on this board, I should have thought to move it after it started. to the mods and TD, what can I say..... I'm as guilty as any mod can be. My apologies to you as well.

it took me a while to catch on to this so I thought I'd tell you guys. When theres a new post and it has this image next to it : hit that button and it will take you right to the first post you havent read. It's very usefull if there are more than one, this way you don't have to read the dates of the post.

When you are making a post, you can easily attach an image that is on your computer without having to upload it to the gallery or a hosting service. All you need to do is have the pic stored on your computer. When you are typing your post there is an attachment field near the bottom, just hit the "browse" button, find the file on your computer click it, hit open, then hit the "post new topic" button.

I just got a summons to appear in court because my shop violates the Americans With Disabilities Act aka. ADA.. I've been in this shop for 11yrs and I rent it.I got a letter today from an ambulance chasing lawyer who saw the suit on the docket and he wanted to offer me his service to defend me.I called him out of couriosity and he was very experienced in this field so first I have to pay him 250 per hour to read my charges and write a response letter. And although I don't own the property I am responsible to make it accessable.I was in violation of 40 different infractions such as having no ramp to my restroom and it isn;t big enough for a wheelchair to turn around in.I ha…

I tinted a 03 black cavalier for a young gil a couple weeks ago. when she comes to pick it up, she picks it to death, like most young girls do. asks alot of insane questions, tells me she hadn't noticed the dot matrix on the glass before (guess I did that), doesn't like it because I removed her roadside assistance stickers, is upset by the dried water spots on her paint, ect, ect. typical teenage girl that knows absolutely JACK about tint. so I run out of death sticks a little bit ago and run up to the store. as I'm driving by the car wash, there she is. car wash brush in hand, scrubbing the shiot out of her black hood. now remember, I live in east texas, people around …
