Really do you want to compare numbers

Do you want to compare #'s Lrod. Because you guys are on a tv show that will be dropped quicker than MTV dropped xhibit, and you make pro's look like @ssholes, doesn't mean your holier than thou. There are a ton of people here who will tint circles around chicos corn rows...I don't care who said "stand on the trunk of a car", No professional would do that. If any of our customers saw any of us standing on the trunk of their car, we'd #1 lose the job, #2 get fired. I work in a high end "TINT" shop. We don't do the a/v work that you do, but we do gross 7 figures a year, without TV.

on a big residential/commercial job I can easily profit $3-4k a day, and I'm one person working semi-fulltime. So lets see thats 4k/8 hours=500/hr. So say ~2000 working hours a year(since tinters work 9-5 :lol ) thats 1mil a year in profit, with one person working full time assuming you have a job every day. Now, we all know thats not the case, but throw in a big shop doing auto/Flat Glass all day long, and its not so much money afterall.

Stop putting yourself on such a high pedestal. People all over the internet on car forums tear appart uniques fab/installs for all the corners they cut :bingo

scotty, how many times have you profited 4k in one day by yourself? we have 3 locations doing nothing but flat and I know what it takes to make that happen. td, not starting an argument but I'm not a fan of stretching the truth. and whoever this other guy on here is, learn some punctuation.

I've done it twice :spit one was I don't even remember how many french pains :lol precut at 15/per for a large banquet hall. The other time was I guess you would call it the front fascia wall of a new strip mall(lots of huge windows, like 50x90, easy money)

now a normal day for me, is like $300 doing cars :duel

      South facing windows DR film

      Install went great. I went with NV-25, I am very happy. The room has been darkened significantly, from bright and hot to much more pleasant and enjoyable. Watching TV during the day is no longer blinding, when it is cloudy it is definitely a bit gloomy, I am glad I did not go with NV-15. I plan on getting more windows done in the future to help cut down on heat energy. Thanks for everyone's input!

      Stratos 70 on windshield, what is this?

      Captain Obvious has two cents err senses to share: 1) The film should be removed and replaced, because it appears to have adhesive blemishes that shouldn't be there, and 2) The film should be reviewed/inspected once taken from the roll to avoid losing time and resources due to manufacturing issues. Little pieces not so much, but back glass and windscreen pieces ... definitely.

      I switched so long ago... first to KDS but they went away. NT are great though. I use a piece of white strapping material as a cutting buffer between the blade and glass. Some use a button but I didn't like the feel..

      Stratos 70 on windshield, what is this?

      I can't win with getting tint decent on the windshield. I had 3M on my F150 done twice and still has major defects. Recently did Stratos twice on my F350 and I see this granular spotted, texture pattern on the tint. It's super obvious in the corner here but also right in my view when driving. It's honestly hard to point out and show someone but when your driving and stuff is moving behind the windshield, it becomes more obvious. The lighting also matters. The first time I did the windshield, I had a two foot line on the windshield. Thinking it was tint, they removed the tint and it was apparently a defect in the Ford windshield. An issue between the laminated glass layers caused this big defect. So they removed the tint, I had Ford replace the windshield on a 2024 F350 but when the tint shop removed the tint, they made a bunch of micro scratches in the front windshield, probably from scrapping the glue off. I told them but I didn't care since Ford was replacing the windshield anyways. So if basically I'm trying to figure out what this texture stuff is and if I should have them replace or remove it. Replacing it might just have different issues but also afraid they will scratch the windshield.
