What do you use to hide the very small gap on wood frame windows ?

I've been using a six inch Hyde putty knife as an edger for twenty years now. I've got it sanded down so good that I can use it directly on film for pushing out edges without scratching. I free hand when I have to, but I can get just as close or closer than any free hand I've seen yet, I just a matter of what works best for you.

Freehand since day one. 99% of the time 0 to the thickness of the blade. All are frame dependent.

Most gaps I've ever done were due to not fully seated gaskets that moved during the bumping.

Removed the film and started over with the new gasket placement.

For about 12 years I Had no idea people were out there using hard cards and 5 way tools  to DELIBERATELY leave a gap.

After seeing this I wondered what is wrong with people thinking gaps were ok.

There is only one place that's good for a gap but I don't think TD wants those pics posted here.

Chivers know what I mean :thumb

I stopped using an edger altogether, just lead with my finger and cut behind. Very little gap if any.

It took me a while to put the edger down since it was how I was taught, but a new boss enlightened me.

:ditto , and with clean edges you can angle your knife blade for a closer cut.

Never used a 5way or and kind of "guide" for that matter. Just the width of the blade like TD said.

35; I'm sceptical. Think it's just another industry method of covering the butts of crap tinters. Just like the old warranty card disclaimers "a few small dots or 'points' may remain, these are inherent to window film adhesive and do not affect the performance of the film in any way."....

Uhhhh, NO. You just got dirt under your film because you either

A: Didn't check your work before sending it out; or

B: Don't take enough pride in your workmanship.
