Flatglass Measurements - inches or mm?

Recommended Posts

I find it so hard nowadays to consider anything imperial and I'm old school. :cool

Devil, you are full of surprises, I would have thought for sure you would think in imperial, that is if I hadn't read a couple of your other posts here and there.

How did you describe yourself once..."As old as dirt" :rollin

True Rocky but when you think about it, metric was introduced what 30 years ago or more so it's hardly new anymore.

If all of us downunder don't grapple with modern times and modern ways, then the new generations look at us like we have 2 heads still living in the stone age. :headbang Embarrassing my friend!

True Devil, but here in the states the younger generation feel like they will never use it unless your a carpenter, mechanic, or medical professional.

How do you build houses in the US then? using imperial?

Pretty much. I remember in the 70's there was a push to use metric, but it confused people used to imperial.

At the time the speed limit was 55 MPH, so people seeing the 88 KPH equivalent would tend to speed I suppose. :lol

This reminds me of that simpsons episode...

"Who keeps the metric system down?.. We do.. We do.. :thumb

I use both forms fluently and I can tell you that if I needed to building a house in Imperial... It would be out by a mile... Sorry.. I mean a kilometre :lol

:lol2

I'm advising my builder at the moment on certain issues GTS and I'd be speaking to him in double dutch if I tried feet and inches.
