Unprofessional to use adhesive promoters?
alberts316 replied to Acexxon's topic in Paint Protection Film, Clear Bra Forum
UPDATE- Speed Films sent me some of his tack solution and I must say it's a game changer IMO. I have used it on mirrors, headlights, superduty hoods multiple times now, edges for wrapping and a freshly resprayed bumper edge. It is NOT Probond! Far less aggressive, yet still helps out tremendously when you need a little bite on a stretch. I'm not a chemist and didn't ask about what's in it, but I know it works for ppf. I sprayed about a dime sized amount on a microfiber and wiped the areas generously, then wiped it clean with another mf towel. It comes out kinda hazy looking but wipes off without issue. Came off super easy with the mf towel on the black plastic around the mirror that I managed to touch. This stuff works well in tight corners where the film has a hard time adhering. I did a wrapped edge on a respray bumper for one of my body shop accts and wanted to see if it would peel paint like probond. Negative, it came off the edge with no issue. You can actually peel the film back after tacking without leaving a stretch mark. The superduty letters lay down on the first pass of your finger and saved me about 5 min a hood. Time is money, and I feel this is a product that saves me time. I have complimented Speed on his product and encourage anyone who's doing ppf try it out. -

Can you give me an example of your issues? I run CC all day everyday and run into minimal issues -
Paper towel availability.....

I'm in the opposite boat, can't find blue shop towels in stock local anywhere so went back to bounty big rolls -
100% NOT what they used to be. I was bitchin just the other day about how they are complete sh!t now. Honestly they were the best in the late 90's to early 2000s and then someone did something to save money on materials and they have never been the same.

Casper Cloaking Technology Film
alberts316 replied to MikeMN's topic in Window Tinting - General Discussion
Have you worked with this film? That's exactly what I would charge. F this film! -
yes, using any graphic design program and saving it as the desired file type.

How well will it work.
alberts316 replied to MikeMN's topic in Paint Protection Film, Clear Bra Forum
I'll help Mike! Yes cleaning the bugs off is a bit easier, not tons. That bumper isn't too bad to do, but it might be a challenge if you don't do ppf often. If you're interested I will send you a kit for your car in suntek ultra(cost plus shipping). Maybe Jeff from Xpel could help you out on some product too. Let me know and I'd be glad to help! -
Put Scraper On a Telescoping Wand
alberts316 replied to suntint's topic in Window Tinting - General Discussion
get an angled scraper so you can keep leverage on the glass, done it many times. Take a scrub pad and tape it to the pole to help remove any residue -
MOLD LINES OR PPF ON HIGHLANDER BUMPERS
alberts316 replied to a topic in Paint Protection Film, Clear Bra Forum
That is the bumper itself. I've had numerous clients say "it came done from the factory" and I show them it's just a line in the bumper and not ppf. It's on a majority of cars -

white vinegar is working just fine. Smells like vinegar, works like iso 70. Been using it for over a week now, and no issues -

Quality of materials used, maybe heavier duty I guess? Honestly the Jaguars are really decent starter plotters. I think if it's running all day everyday, then a graphtec could be considered. I've got numerous buddies using the Jaguar with no issues.

for the entry level, Jaguar and vinyl express are your best options. Both will do what you need.

And like usual here's Tom to poo poo all over ppf. Go Tom go
